Most members just get mad at a moderator for banning them and would vote them out based on a grudge. It would be nice if each and every person was capable of making an unbiased decision that was based on the mod's competence and not the member's vendettas, but unfortunately, that isn't the case.

Those people complaining are doing something wrong.

Are you serious? So by your logic, anyone who complains is, by default, doing something wrong? Now how about we apply this to apartheid or Stalin's rule. Does that logic still hold up?
1. Stalin killed those who he felt were a threat to his continued rule. Has nothing to do with being a fair moderator.

2.Apartheid has nothing to do with anything! How does racial segregation apply to an internet forum?

I see you fail to comprehend my statement. I'm talking about how people complained against the establishment. By the logic of the previous member, complaining means one is doing something wrong as opposed to the established rule doing something wrong. I don't see how you could have possibly missed that.

You have no rights, Bungie can remove you at a whim for no reason what so ever, at least from memory, last time I read the rules.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Brighten your day with science.

This.

Though, speaking of personal vendettas...

This world wants to drag you down... And the weight, that guilt they want to hang around your neck, you don’t have to carry it one more step. You think they won’t let you rest, but it’s not up to them. It never was.

I think people need to stop comparing this forum to the goverment. This is not a democracy or a dictatorship. This is an internet forum.

Bungie.net has not, and never will be a democracy. It will remain a strict dictatorship. You will obey, and submit, or you will be ousted. That has always been the understood terms of use. You most likely agreed to that when you signed up...

The Moderators decided to have your account banned, and your username paraded through the forums. But, ultimately the terms of your expulsion are up to me.

I believe Frank O'Connor used this quote with some tweaking in Halo 2.

Your statement is pointless, either submit to the way things are here or leave. That second option seems like a pretty sweet deal.

Fair enough, but the community as a whole have less bias than the ones who appoint the moderator, no?

...Who do you think appoints moderators?
The Webmaster AKA Spiderman. That's right, Bungie, I'm onto your secret.
You mean Arachnos?

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Interesting question.

But the fact is that the community already can "remove a moderator", as a matter of fact a single member can do so. But it's not done by a vote. It's done by a different process.

The most historically common cases are that the single member that removes the moderator is the moderator themselves. Happened plenty of times for a multitude of reasons. If we include involuntary removal, then that covers all cases.

Just like it is the actions/choices of the member that gets a particular member banned, it is the actions/choices of a moderator that has their abilities removed. Democracy need not get involved.

I'm sort of on the fence about this. Sure, while this would be interesting, I'm assuming that people would only vote to remove a Forum Ninja if they banned them or not.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Ahahaha. I'd think Achronos' title of "Overlord," would clue you in that this is not a democracy. We are all subject to the whims of the powerful and there is nothing we can do about it. Your strongly worded letter is powerless.

Halo3Planet, the place for all things Halo 3..

Need help finding skulls, make sure to go here.

How could I possibly have enough information about a moderator's actions to know whether or not they fit the position? All I can know is how they interact with me and how the vocal minority feels about them.

Common sense like this has no place on this forum.

I suspect llamas are secretly wizards. I <3 poptarts n' milk. I like me. Grimick is defined as: a logical parodox, the act of funnaling a potato down your throat, and a deliciously flavored muffin (with pecons and blueberries). Norway is the Swedish word for 'moron'. My sister has cancer, so i get to use handicap parking and cut small children in line at Disneyland.

"Don't eat doughnuts on thin ice."

"The pancake, my friend, has officially been flipped."

No I don't think so. This isn't a democracy. Bungie is our beloved tyrant ;)
Im sure they know when a moderator is getting out of line, but so far I think that the mods are pretty consistently fair. Just follow the rules and you'll be fine.

The Risk Is Worth The Reward.
Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War.

I don't see why we should be able to do that. We did not put those mods in place, it was Bungie who put them there. therefore we really have no say in who stays and who doesn't.

OP...

What part of these Forums ever made you believe that it was a Democracy?

We need to know so that Achronos can squash it as soon as possible.

Democracy has no place in the 7th Column.

I don't like most of our moderators, and I have been looking for reasons to get rid of a few of them. If you have a reason why we should kick em outta here, you should send me a Private Message.

Nothing above this sentence is true.

We have 17 'No' answers, one undecided, and one 'do it' above your post. So I'm assuming you're saying we should do it. In which case I vote we get rid of the smelliest moderator first. Qbix, you're up fish man.
