I belive that the entire earth is the ark, but the ark is actually subterranian. I belive that the part of the ark shown in the trailer is the main console of the ark, and the other entrances can only be activated from there. I also have come to the conclusion that the other entrances are placed strategically around the earth, so that all of earth's inhabitants(or at least most of them) may be saved by the ark. I also belive that the inhabitants were informed to bring whatever animals they could before the activation of the rings. I also belive that the humans and covennant made a pact that they wouldn't fight until after the activation of the rings so that both the humans and covennant could survive. After the activation the covennant then returned to their homeworld and the rivalry continued.

There is an edit button for a reason.

And I hate theories. What's the point of them? It's not like you are going to GUESS the storyline of halo.

According to Gen. 8:4, Mt. Ararat was the supposed landing place of The Ark(Noah's Ark). Don't know if that has anything to do with Halo though... Intresting to come upon nonetheless.

no way would bungie enter religion of any form into the game. it would alienate fans, and its way out of the story line.

I tink there are many of those "artifacts" around Earth and all activate to shied Earth from the Flood. The artfacts are the Ark, they protect from the Flood.

why the hell not. i consider the workers of bungie to be artists, and it is very common for an artist to try to say something through their work, and often, this statement can be about religion.

Someone theorized of the Covenant civil war before Halo 2 came out.

Man I think that there IS something to do with Religion, although it may NOT be used as Religion in this game. DOH JUST LOOK AT THE NAMES AND STUFFS. Covenant? Ark? Everyone has heard about the Covenant of the Ark! The Flood? The flood is something to do with Covenant of Ark! "I have defied GODS AND DEMONS." DOH. Gods and demons are RELIGION. Something is going to happen related to the religion.

They have used religion, but so much literature draws from the Bible.

I think that the Ark or whatever that thing is sends a signal to something else in the space near to earth, which then in turn sends signals to activate the Halos, but at the particular point in the trailer, the receiver in space is gone.
