@spawn031

"So much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it's gratifying to have something you have done linger in people's memories." John Williams

5 years since this game his the homes of millions. Great to see the community still here today. I loved playing through the campaign with my younger brothers. We actually were able to stay home from school that day, had our parents permission (we were sick). Although we ended up doing the same thing for Halo 2 as well.

I'll never forget those double XP weekends with friends and Bungie Vs The World Playlist back on Bungie Day 2009. I miss having the random weapons playlists like team fiesta. So many friends and memories were made on this game. Cheers to another year.

Proud Spartan II, COG soldier, Hero of time, and crowbar wielding scientist.

I feel obligated to say:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HALO 3.
As the first Xbox 360 game I've had, It's been played a lot. My friends and I have had good times on this, and it will always be remembered.

Happy Birthday Halo 3, never forget.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Brighten your day with science.

Man, I still reminisce over dem custom games.

Music is slowly dying. Classic rock, rock, and metal is real music. Non of this bull-blam!- pop and rap with there auto tuned voices. No talent. And Im not talking about stupid ass New Metal bands like Drowning Pool, Disturbed, and Godsmack. Im talking about Children of Bodom, Slayer, Exodus, and Megadeth. Also, what happened to awesome rock bands like AC/DC? The best band ever. Why can't rock bands now have that kind of talent like the older rock bands? Music is slowly dying.

Everything. From the custom games to the multiplayer to the incredible campaign. It was the first game I played online. Halo 3 is why I started playing xbox live. I will never forget the memories I had created with everyone.

Happy Birthday Halo 3. You will remain the greatest game of all time in my eyes.

I have never been more excited for a game in my life, then I was for Halo 3. I remember picking up the game at midnight and playing the campaign through in one sitting. Amazing! Halo 3 wrapped up the trilogy in such a satisfying way.
I played multiplayer for countless hours. Some great, great times playing that game. It was one of those games that defined a genre and not just set, but cemented the bar for FPS games.

Then there was the legendary ending. In my opinion, it's one of the best endings to a game.
"But you did it. Truth and the Covenant...the Flood. It's finished."; Are some of the most satisfying lines of dialogue in a game. You truly felt like "We did it! We won!".

...Then the line "Wake me... When you need me"

Bungie truly delivered a timeless story and gameplay that is unparalleled.

Bungie, to you, I say thank you. Thank you for the teams hard work, thank you for loving your fans.

I changed usernames to match my gamertag. My original account, wambo114, was created when I got xbox live. I'm a 2007 kid really!

First game I played online, also the reason my house got broadband! So many happy hours spent with friends and making new ones.

Whenever I was having a bad day I could always put Halo 3 in and forget about it.

Never Forget.

"Unfortunately for us both, I like crazy."

Happy 5th bday, Halo 3!
I loved every second of this game, and got up before work to finish the campaign the days after it came out. Got the Legendary edition at a midnight launch, played the hell out of online for quite a while.
Probably my favorite memory, though, came a few weeks prior. Sat outside a Best Buy early on a Saturday morning to get my Halo 3 edition console (this game is why I own a 360) in the middle of a huge line. When the employee came out and asked, "Is everyone here in line for a Wii?" I proudly raised my hand and said, "Nope, Halo Xbox 360." (Already had a Wii since launch day.) Made me feel good about my dedication to this amazing franchise.

  • 09.25.2012 5:43 PM PDT

Yep

Only 15000 people playing now? That sucks.

Real account.

Join me as we make new friends from different communities!

If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

I played a couple of games last night in honor of the anniversary.

I got owned. It's been a while!

Great to play on some of those old maps again. And here the menu music! It made me decide that I'm going to do a Halo 3 Campaign run again sometime soon.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

After playing some Swat with people who were shooting through walls it seems, I'm happy for the banhammer keeping us from those annoyances, and for a ranking system so we can fight and have a chance at victory.
This game is awesome.

I would say that my fondest memories of Halo 3 were from the Bungie vs World playlist in Halo 3.

"What are we holding on to, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

Everything. Simply everything.

"To me, a nice triple kill with the sniper is infinitely more impressive than any Living Dead Killionaire"

Does flaming people on forums count as an esport?

I'm a commendation/achievement/statistics freak.

The banhammer prevented the same fate that CoD 4 experienced from happening to H3. This game is still very playable, and still wonderfully balanced. And the graphics still hold their own against today's games, an amazing 5 years later. Proof.
