I never understood the people that insist humans are Forerunners. Where is the geological evidence? Evolution is one of the best theories science has put out, and there is no room in human evolution for us going into space. Perhaps it was homoe erectus? Maybe they went straight from chipping rocks to building giant ringworlds? And they flapped their arms to travel through space, because they didnt leave any evidence of technology! IMO it seems downright silly that a company as smart as Bungie, would ignore the facts!

Also, I have the following:

1. But humans use Forerunner stuff instinctively! There is no evidence the rest of the Covenant do not use Forerunner tech in the same intuitive way we do. The Arbiter would be unable to open the tunnels on Sacred Icon, because only sentinels were meant to use them. And that previous sentence is moot if we consider Normal mode to be canon.

2. But only humans are Reclaimers! Whomever is chosen to handle the Index may become a Reclaimer. Guilty Spark picked humans on Installation 04 because they didnt release the Flood. If they are smart enough to obey containment protocol, humans would appear to be better educated about Halo. When Guilty Spark says as you fight Tartarus, "And may I say, reclaimers, it has been a pleasure to serve you both. Good bye..." he would be referring to Miranda (who grabbed the index), and the Arbiter (who let Miranda in by lowering the containment shield). Guilty Spark would assume they were in on it together, in an attempt to stop the Flood outbreak in the Quarantine Zone. So an Elite might now be a Reclaimer!

3. Your points are silly. Everything points to humans being Forerunners. Making it look like Humans are Forerunners, when in fact they arent related, would be a nice plot twist. Also, the more people who fall for it, the less likely it is someone will figure the truth out and ruin the story.

And a parting thought: "Silence fills the empty grave, now that I have gone. But my mind is not at rest, for questions linger on. Now I will ask, and you will answer." As Gravemind says this, he suggests even someone as smart as him is confused by Halo's plot! A humbling thought.

you're naut cookin'

You're missing the cruical point in the time line.

People generally believe that the Forerunner were in existance before humans. They encountered the Flood, built the Halos (for whatever reason) and built the Ark.

The Ark to... protect them from the Flood, sound familiar? Anyway, the rings were fired, as Guilty Spark says, and all sentient life died. Therefore, logically, Forerunner died.

But being as technologically advanced as they are, in the Ark they may have placed a non-sentient, prehistorical form of themselves that would eventually regrow into Forerunners.

Btw, the Ark is on Earth.

Yes, I know the Ark is on Earth. Quite convinced of that by now. No sarcasm meant by that.

Dollo's Law (I'm getting this from Stephen Jay Gould) states that it is virtually impossible for two species to evolve into identical copies of each other. It's like winning the lottery a dozen times, recovering from AIDS naturally, then being struck by lightning in one day. It could happen, but you can safely say it won't. So any prehistoric Forerunners in the Ark would become something that could be mistaken for a Forerunner, but turn out to be rather different--like crocodiles and alligators.

And I always thought the Ark was the Ark of the Covenant--the Flood are too smart to let any survivors of Halo firing go free. They would be desperate, and have all the data and resources of the Forerunner Empire. They would use the primitive Forerunners in the Ark as cattle, raising them to become Flood hosts. The Flood had to lose ALL their food AT ONCE. If they started farming hosts, nothing in the universe could stop them.

I have walked the edge of the Abyss. I have governed the unwilling. I have witnessed countless empires break before me. I have seen the most courageous soldiers fall away in fear. [I was there with the Angel at the tomb] I have seen your future. And I have learned. There will be no more Sadness. No more Anger. No more Envy. I HAVE WON. Off topic but does your sig say "Any man can make a mistake; only a fool keeps making the same one."?

maybe they didnt want any evidence left so no one would no how to destroy themselves with there power/ trying to create a clean slate for a race with clues left behind maybe only a few forrunners stayed on the ark to preserve the race but not the technology because their own technology was their downfall

k im a dumbass, whats skeptical mean, im way too lazy to go look it up right now

Skeptical:
disbelieving: denying or questioning the tenets of especially a religion; "a skeptical approach to the nature of miracles"
doubting: marked by or given to doubt; "a skeptical attitude"; "a skeptical listener"

343 was talking to miranda and johnson, not the arbiter.
