That is the worst idea ever.

You would be stuck with dual weilding all the time. You could NOT throw granades because pulling the left trigger would just attempt to fire your left weapon. Then the ONLY why to get out of dual wielding would be to create a special button. Or swap to a non-dual weildable weapon.

god. you didn't think this through at all.

You seem to be forgetting that H3 will be on the Xbox 360, which has different button layouts on the controllers. And you could drop the weapon to toss a grenade! Plus, I don't see you coming up with any good ideas. So why don't you stop ragging on me and be a little more productive and USEFUL, by making up your own ideas, instead of contradicting others?!

They both have the same amount of buttons, dumbass. By the way, yelling at someone for giving you constructive criticism makes you look like a prick, especially when you don't actually address any of his points.
Who's really the dumbass here? Matt for making a mistake, or Microsoft for being stupid and not adding anything new to the controller?

I think they should get rid of duel wielding. To many good aspects of Halo CE were lost for a novelty...weapons watered down, no freeze effects for the plasma

This is my theory on dual weilding.

Okay, In Halo 2, DWing was great, but too inconvenient. It was only a temporary thing. Only applicable at certain times. Not to mention every little thing you did made you drop your secondary weapon. Swap weapons, drop. Throw Grenade, drop. Melee attack, drop, it was ridiculous. In Halo 3, dual weilding should have these rules.

1. You can swap weapons without dropping your secondary weapon, like in H2 E3.
2. You can melee without dropping your secondary weapon. That was crazy. Why can't you use BOTH weapons to melee, or how about kicking?!
3. You can only drop the secondary weapon by either,
a. Choosing to (create a command for that)
b. Throwing a grenade.
Let's face it, you don't have three hands, so it's impossible, and unfair. Imagine this. On Live, some guy is wailing on you with dual Plasma Rifles, your sheilds are down, he tosses a grenade, and keeps DWing. It's not fair that they should be allowed to have two weapons out at the same time AND toss grenades at you.

So, agree or disagree?

1. Disagree. This takes away balance and takes away strategy from halo series. Everyone would just duell weild, after they run out of ammo, they switch to the dominate weapon. Halo isnt about only duel wielding, for those of us who dont like it, Bungie makes it balanced so Duel weilding has sacrifices. Switching weapons is an obvious one.

2. Disagree. Again you are forgetting about balance. Duel wielding is already dominate at close range, now you want to be able to melee with it? That's making Duelding above everything else. It would make non duel wieldable weapons at a huge disadvantage. A great example is the shotgun, it would basically be useless. What makes the shotgun great is you can shoot someon, melee them, and shoot them again with same amount of power. While if someone duel wielding did this, they would shoot with alot of power, melee, than lose one of their weapons, shoot again but with less power.. You see how the balance works?

3. Disagree. Duel wielding is about getting the power of two weapons to make it dominate at close range, while at the same time taking sacrifices at melee, swithing weapons, and grenades. If you were to give duel wielding all of that, you are making the game unbalanced. Halo becomes all about duel wielding in close range. putting those who want to only use one weapon at a disadvantage. It makes you think, should you duel wield for twice the power, or carry two weapons and use grenades? It's strategy, something you are trying to get rid of it seems.

The fact duel wielding is inconvient at times, makes it balanced. If it were convient all the time, it would make it too dominate.

Balance is the key to halo. Some things may be unrealistic but it balances it out.

You actually want to make Dual Wielding stronger? That is the whole reason Halo 2 takes less skill than Halo (more auto aim, less aiming needed, all weapons are weaker)

Here is the fix to dual wielding:

---Dual Wielding

There is no doubt that dual wielding is a cool new feature to the Haloverse, but it is a seriously flawed system that Bungie can fix in Halo 3..

Every single weapon and Vehicle has been weakened due to the dual wielding feature that was introduced..why? I don't know, but there was an easier option.

All single-handed weapons should be stronger, so that they are useful on their own, and don't need a dual wield counterpart to be effective (compare the Halo plasma Rifle with the Halo 2 Plasma Rifle)

The way to fix this is to make dual wielded weapons less accurate (it makes sense - you are holding it with one hand instead of two now..and it has no stock extended) and make the player reload both weapons seperately, rather than at the same time...

(How do we rub our thighs with our SMG-Magnum combo, and it automatically reloads?)

This would make dual wielding take skill, be balanced, and everything won't need to be severely weakened to utilize this feature

My Thread on similar ideas that would make Halo 3 both fun and skillful. Post and let me know how you feel about them please...

Vehicles have been weakened in what way? Vehicles seem to have been improved far too much the way I see it *coughscorpioncough* almost to the point where you if you didn't have control of the rocket you were screwed. The weapons on the vehicles have been made noticably more accurate and fire much much faster (Scorpion main cannon and gauss hog compared to Halo PC rocket hog).

Well, it's better than the post originator's idea, mainly because you actually try to keep balance. I also liked the whole "You rub your thighs with a Magnum SMG combo and they automatically reload." thing. The problem with reloading separately, if I'm thinking of it the same way you are, is it'd do one of two things:

1) Slow down the pace far too much from the way it was in Halo 2.

2) Get people to not Dual-Wield mainly due to the inability to reload quickly in the middle of a firefight.

That was NOT constructive criticism! All I was telling him was to be more useful and make up some ideas rather thatn bringing down those who actually DID come up with ideas.

Dumbass...

I think most of you are missing my point. My idea is to make it so you don't have to drop your second weapon to melee or switch to your other weapon. You are REALLY blowing this out of proportion!

I'm not chinging anything with skill! It's got nothing to do with skill! All it is is meleeing with 2 weapons out, and switching weapons back and forth with 2 weapons. Like this:

You have Dual SMGs.
You switch out your Battle Rifle
You switch back to Dual SMGs

It's got NOTHING to do with skill.

I agree, that is one thing that leaves you at a severe disadvantage whenever you try to get into a vehicle. They should have holsters for each single-handed weapon and have you sling your rifle around your back (with an animation for you to draw each).

Holding Y would work well in bringing up a selection menu where you could hold two sidearms and a main weapon (or two main weapons) and select what you want to use that way.

You can already hold that many guns in Halo 2! You're making it sound like I'm adding a 3rd weapon slot! I'm just making Dual Weilding more logical, and easier. When it comes to meleeing, it's not a measure of balance, it's a measure lf logic. Humans can multitask! We can hit with our right hand without dropping what's in our left! And we can kick too!

Yes, my name is a typo.

I dont agree with the melee with right hand while hold 2nd gun in left hand. unless you cannot fire during the melee. bcause that could upgrade the BXR!

I think you should melee with BOTH guns, so you can't fire, and we can eliminate that possibility.

hitting someone ith both hands at the same time would be over kill! you need to think about the fact that the MC is freaking strong as steal.

1. It's steel.
2. They don't need to increase the power. A two-hand melee could be just as powerful as a one-hand melee.
