"Another problem was that Bungie was never up for it... Bungie was kind of sore about the idea. What they called it was 'the whoring out of our franchise' or something."

False. Civilization: Revolution.

OT: That's exactly what it is...

I liked Halo Wars but it felt like it should have been on PC

That counts as RTS? it stops when it is your turn. How can it be real time, and have turns that stop play? Granted, the only RTS I have ever played was some Myth II years and years ago, butI think im remembering this right.

I liked Halo Wars. It's kinda weird to see Bungie's true reaction to it.

They're people too, with opinions on stuff like you and I have. If I saw my game bastardized, I'd be mad. I'd be very, very mad.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

For the sake of fairness, I would like to point out that there is no direct quote of a Bungie employee saying something negative about Ensemble or Halo Wars in this article.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

If I was Bungie I would be pissed as well. It was the only "Halo" game I never beat. It was utter garbage with little replay value.

I don't see anything wrong with Bungie stating there opinion, because well, they are entitled to it

And this. I expected during that time period to hear Bungie saying they were excited yaddayadda. But it would never surprise me to hear any of them say they were pissed about it. I would be. It's weird to have another studio working on your stuff, in a completely, radically different way, regardless of their skill or quality.

Hmmm... I'd like to see the full interview, it might be more telling.

But what really needs to be more telling? Again I say they're people too, with opinions. I don't know if they're being placed on a pedestal or something, or if you're just curious. But as it stands, they probably didn't like it all that much and are more than entitled to their opinions.

StarCraft 2 would have made it useless.

Age of empires never was a real rival for the StarCraft franchise.

I appreciate their candor. I also appreciate them not raising their concerns publicly during development. That's just dirty pool.

Curiosity mostly. That, and I've been misled by articles before that didn't include the full interview like that entire EA says Dead Space is less Scary thing that happened a while back. Regardless, I imagine it will be an interesting read.

I liked Halo Wars for the most part, I really wish it was on PC however.

Technically it is an RTS. Also have to remember the Command and Conquer games.

OT: It was fun to play, but don't have much choice on a console. Agree it could've been done way better. Not going to make Halo 4 comments.
