Multiplayer maps MUST have weather generators. For instance...

You load up the newest iteration of Blood Gulch/Coagulation, and head towards the "map settings" option. Pick your weapons, vehicles, etc., but then select NIGHT and THUNDERSTORM.

Now picture yourself creeping through the middle of the map. It's dark, difficult to see, and rain pours over the map. You know there's a sniper by the blue base rocks, and you scan slowly but can't make anything out. Suddenly, lightning flashes, and you see the opposing sniper staring straight at you...

You get the idea. I'm thinking night, day, sunset/rise, blizzards, thunderstorms, dust storms, perhaps random meteor showers... whatever. Particle generators are so insane now that multiplayer must make use of them.

That was a post by nucking futts from mombasamovies.com most people would know as newmombasa.net... I think it is an AWESOME idea and so do the other 7 people who talked about it [url=http://mombasamovies.com/forum/showthread.php?t=125]here [ /url]. What do YOU guys think?

Maybe, if it makes sense to the environment. I don't want to see a bright sunny day on lockout, or snow on Zanzibar. Halos wheather is highly controlled and regulated, so that should be taken into consideration since most MP maps take place on a Halo.

YOu should be able to change the weather...but it should be mandated by the clock on your zbox. For instance, if it is December, it wont rain. if it's July, it wont snow. stuff like that.

The Earth's weather has absolutly nothing to do with the Halos.

One of the first good ideas I've read for Halo 3. It wouldn't take up much more space, and wouldn't be too hard to program, but it could potentially give a ton of variety to the levels already there. Not to mention night maps giving new life to the flashlight and night vision scope. Even they wouldn't ever make them so dark you can't see without them, that'd be stupid.

I wouldn't mind a rainy day on Blood Gulch. Especially if rain = Metroid Prime-style visor effects.

wow how utterly exciting ... yawn.

multiplayer would suck if you "scan slowly but cant make anything out" except when lightning flashes.

Different parts of the world go through different seasons so your idea wouldn't work because it would vary for certain people.

True. I didn't think through it much, just said what came to mind first.

there could be snow on zanzibar, because its on earth not halo, that would be fun, and the water would be frozen and the barrier would a little more farther back on the water front so you could actually ride warthogs on it.

if it rains it would be cool to see the water dripping down your helmet, like in conker

I am...whimsical today.

But there is always the danger of an explosion causing the weather device to malfunction, and we could all be stuck playing Marathon for the next 1000 years (then again we could equally be playing Pimps at Sea) ;)

I'd like that addition to the MP maps. It would not work in the Campaign as that runs to its own environment and date. The weather would also have to match the map, a nice beach map should not have snow, etc :)
