Subject: "We're dark, but you still burn bright."

You: "Hey Lobster, I think I've heard that or seen that somewhere..."
Me: "Look right."

That is correct, those beautiful 7 words that grace the ad spot where many ads have come before is what we have during these dark times. Now, I know this may seem a little out of the blue here but follow along with me for some camaraderie.

Think about it, what happens when you click the add? That's right, you are linked to the Community Forum. The dark Bnet Epicenter. This is where we burn bright, have fun, make friends and organize gameplay. This idea of burning bright is what impacts me most and shows me how important we are as a Community, to Bungie.

You may have come across, in this progressive and ever-fleeting 2012 world, the term to burn bright. If you've ever read Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 you may be familiar with this term or if you've ever been in touch with some emotional strife or been giving someone else advice, you may have told them to burn bright.

The fact that Bungie sees us as burning bright, as carrying the torches, as the ones creating a livable, loving place where we call home is what hits home with me. It lets me know and enables me to reflect on how great this all is. Every day.

So, Community members, whatever you want to refer to yourself as, I would like to know a few things. What does it mean to you that we burn bright in the eyes of Bungie? How does it make you feel to be here and be appreciated? Are there any kind words of your own you'd like to share?

TL;DR: We are awesome and appreciated, answer my questions.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

It makes me feel special.

New Hawtness. Problem solved.

OT: I'm glad Bungie actually pays attention to us, unlike a lot of other developers. we shall be rewarded for our loyalty. Soon. (TM)

Eh, i'm one of many.. one person is fan..

Together we are the Seventh Column. Together we can do anything. We are the heart and soul of Bungie.net lighting up the dark and so long as Achronos keeps pressing buttons we'll stay bright.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Maybe it means that we will end the darkness if we all put our heads together.

Not even sure slingshoted is a word but you get the point.
If it was a word, it would have two t's.

Yep, it does. It probably means that this website is kept alive, and currently devoted to, us. The Community. We keep this site alive and kicking.

In Frankenstein Day it would probably look something like this.

But to answer your question. It means a lot burning bright in the eyes of Bungie. On the other hand, it's tuff hanging on to what little we actually know about what they are doing.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Awesome.

Day by day I find the darkness to be more consuming. I don't come here as much as I used to anymore. But alas, every once in a while I'll peek my head in the forums and see what's new. Once a member of the Seventh Column, always a member.

What does it mean to you that we burn bright in the eyes of Bungie?
That we stand strong in the darkness. I mean, you gotta admit, there isn't a whole lot here right now. We could easily migrate somewhere else, but for some reason, we all choose to stay, and so it shall be our light in a sea of dark.
How does it make you feel to be here and be appreciated?
To be here? Happy, because each and every member here is important to me. You all are what make my stay here worth while, and I would love nothing more than to get to know each and every one of you. To be appreciated? I'm not getting that feeling right now, but perhaps we actually WILL get some special lovin' when Bungie's next game comes out.
Are there any kind words of your own you'd like to share? We've come this far without a hitch, and we've done pretty damn well too. Let's not mess it up, guys, let's keep strong, make friends, and play games. Not necessarily in that order, of course.
