I'm just wondering if it was intentional to have Johnson come back to life in every level. Twice in some instances, I was playing the XBOX version and dident see anything. But I got the PC version recently (Playing with only a keyborad and mouse sucks >.< ) and noticed something. Johnson was alive. Then he was killed under a warthog. Next level. Johnson is in the back of the Pelican. o.O Next level. A grunt sticks him with a grenade. Later that level. He jumps off the back of the pelican. And I can see his corpse from the ledge. Was this intentional? Becasue its damn funny.

Probably not, they're probably going to tell everyone probably in Halo 3 why, they even made it more mysterious at the little classified information at the start of Halo 2, remember bungie themselves said that the books do not follow the storyline excatly, there just there to fill in the holes.

The few, the proud, the leet.

It's jsut a case of the black guy standing out. If a white marine dies, you dont pay much attention to it. If the only black one dies, it stands out in your mind. All the marines get used over and over.

Yeah but the other marines dont have names... Just johnson... Or perhaps he dident have a name in Halo 1? I wouldent notice so much i guess if he dident have a name that I knew. Probebly because I played Halo2 first.

(also is it possible to use my own avatar from my computer or do I have to use the ones bungie provieds? And please I try to do my best but my spelling is terrible.)

Yes, it's just a funny quirk in Halo. I'm quite surprised you haven't noticed this before.

And dude, you take that back. The mouse and keyboard pwns the gamepad.

I dident notice it on the Xbox because the Xbox supports all the prober lighting. My PC does not so I can actualy see things. So then I notice. (Plus my monitor does not have to have a universal Brightness setting for playing Halo then playing Metroid them playing a DVD)

Yeah I know. But if you have an older Mac Keyborad on a PC then it does suck. (There arent enough keys on an older Mac keyborad and the Apple key is a Windows key o.O)

Yes, the other marines all have names. At least their heads do. That's literally the only difference between them.

Well, a Mac keyboard and/or a mouse isn't what I'd use for PC gaming. I use Microsoft's Precision Gaming Series Laser Mouse 6000, which is awesome for getting 3SKs in multiplayer.

Well if some buthead hadent stolen mine i would use a mouse and my Sidewinder Pro2 Flight joystick. I use a Logitech optical mouse that has like 600dpi becasue I coulend comprehend how incredibly difficut it would be to use a mouse with a ball to play this. I realize that there are small difference between the like 12 different marine faces (I may be wrong about the number but thats what I counted) but what I'm saying is is there really a name given to the other marines in the game? Like wile your playing hte game?

im afraid im gonna have to confiscate your testicles.

What are you, the Cyber police? lol.

If you noticed hes a sargent and is usually seen ALOT in clips on halo 2 like the 1st mission of new mombasa, and plus, I looked at his voice outtake on halo 2, he says in one area, "Say what!? I didnt come back to life for this!" If he says that, then maybe hes not a human, bungie didnt put that saying in halo or halo 2, why? Maybe because they dont want us to know hes a human, plus, in most games ive noticed that like in call of duty 2, sargent davis never dies. Maybe bungie had tried to make it so no matter what Johnson wouldnt die, but maybe they failed.

Welcome to the Maw, Jackpkmn!
(One of us! One of us! One of us!)

Think about it. The UNSC employs perhaps millions of men and women, spread across the universe, fighting the Covenant. The chances are pretty good that you'll see more than just one black sergeant.

Also, it's a gameplay thing. SGT Johnson suddenly 'reappears' in the next level, after he's died. But, the Master Chief suddenly 'respawns' after he's been killed too. If Halo was uber-realistic, then you would only get one life, and after you died, you could never play again, because your game would spontaneously combust.

Fun, no?

To get better at Halo PC, try playing the campaign on Easy to familiarize your self with the controls. Then, move up to Normal, then Heroic, then up to Legendary. This will prepare you for the bloody fragfest that is Halo Mac/PC Online Multiplayer.

Several of the Marines are mentioned by name in the level '343 Gulity Spark'. They are: SGT Johnson, PVT Jenkins, PVT Bisenti, and CPL Mendoza.

One of the other Marines is called SGT Stacker.

It is in my nature to speculate about this kinda stuff, thats why I posted. You probebly wont see me online in Halo or Halo 2 on PC becasue as of recently the only capeable computer does not have a working LAN or modem controler. :( A few of the marines are indeed given names in that cinimatic. But they are promptly killed. Perhaps what was supposed to happen was that he dies then you dont notice. (Its kinda hard not to notice when you stop often and count the number of marines following you) I have a tendnacy to count the number of marines that arte following me at the start of the level then continualy keep track of thier numbers so that Iknow whether or not to go back and check for dead or marines hung up on walls and such. The contols are ok, i'm just saying that they arent excataly pronounced. (stupid me i tryed to use the arrow keys to move -slaps self-) I'm just saying that it might be easier of i had somethign else to use. (I plan on getting a new Sidwinder 3D pro) Why? Because thier cheep and I dont feel that I have to have a USB device for everything. (YEAH! my computer still has PS/2, Serial, Parralell, MIDI, and even a Game Port! [why do I feel this is something to be proud of?])

There's nothing stopping you from changing the controls, now is there? If using a keyboard is that hindering to your gameplay, try getting a zBoard.

I'm hopeing that I dont have to live like this forever... (when I say cheap I mean i dident have to pay for it beasue someone threw it away and said I could take it)

I call triple post one that! Well he's right. johnson cant die in Halo2. Hes like some kinda super being or floolike creture. Mabye hes a robot form the future? (More so than halo takes place) I think that the robot idea is the most fesible... HOLY ****ING CRAP! I figured it out. Johnson was replaced with a robot in Halo2. He never made it off the ring at all. How else could you explane the fact that if you shoot him at close range in most of the missions or melee him it sounds like your hitting a metal wall?

No, it wasn't Black Power that saved Avery Johnson. He had a disease from too much radiation that was received from contact with an entire crate of Plasma grenades.

He only survived because he never received treatment for this disease. The Flood parasites couldn't grab ahold of his scattered nerves and DNA. Amazing complicated coincidence.

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

The books help to answer a lot of questions.
Plus, besides that, Johnson is just to badass to die.
I actually got 2 of them in a hog once. I got the ss to show if you want proof.
Heh, in H2, I was able to push Johnson out into an airlock, into the vacume of space, and off the space station. I saw a small yellow blip ony my screen. The guy was running around at the bottom of the game map!
Johnson is good to be invincible, because of all the blood splattering gore fun we can have with him.

Someone else has read the books, I see...

Yep, it's called Boren's Syndrome. (It's not a real disease- I already checked.) SGT Johnson single-handedly stalled a Covenant advance with nothing more than a crate of plasma grenades. I think that's the incident that caused him to get a promotion and recieve one of his Purple Hearts.

Yeah, I think the book said that he refused treatment so he could return to the front faster.
