"Life to you stepson and everlasting glory. " Thifes World.

[High Charity, Detention Center Six.]

He was being held with others who were placed in when he heard about how the Jilaralhane had been put in charge of things when Regret was killed. Sangheili were not apart of the military apparatus any more.

They held a few former Sangheili councillors. Klones was still here for some reason. Others were in cells as well. They were half full.

Klones looked around once again with disinterest. In the cell next to him was a former Councillor named Vor'ush. They spoke some when he arrived but until now he was silent.

" Klones soon we will be free." Vor'ush spoke low so the Brute jailers would not hear. " Be ready when help arrives. I will explain later." Klones did not say a word but softly knocked on the cell wall.

Squad of Sangheili warriors battled the brutes who were dead before they knew what had happened. Energy Blasts killed the jailers who were rushed very fast with Plasma Rifles and Plasma grenades. Brutes tried to fight there way out only killing one of the seven attackers.

The squad shut down the cells energy fields. Warlord Klones felt elation at that he was finally free. " Arm yourselves brothers. We have been betrayed." The leader said of the improve squad. Every one picked up a Weapon.

This was a matter of survival. Warlord Klones knew where he needed to be. " I know the Divine Fireis still docked. What is the situation with the fleet.?"

Councilor Vor'rush spoke interrupting." It wont matter if we do not get off High Charity. We can figure it out later."

Klones picked up a Plasma Rifle from a dead Brute." We need more weapons then we make for the docked ship. That console will tell us more." Klones opened the consoles interface.

In moments he was able to hack High Charities battle net. It displayed the information he needed. Even a map his armor downloaded. Then he got the status to the ship. " We have an armory not far away." Klones nodded to the other door.

"Divine Fire is in the docks locked down. We will have to disable the docking clamps before we can board. Armory is this way." Klones headed out the door looking both ways. He could hear voices ahead. Brute Voices.

" I do not see anything do you ?" One guard turned to the other brute guard looking forward." No i do not..You. Go find out-." Brute guard was speaking to an Unggoy.

Klones crept up on the unaware guards. A few of his brothers fallowed behind him. He used Active Cloak to ensure he had the element of surprise.

Klones with his armed brethren opened fire on the two brutes. who never got to finish there sentence The Unggoy fired back then were cut down as well. Four of them fell to the plasma fire.

Armory door was open as they went inside to check it then arms were passed to all those who were unarmed. Plasma Grenades were handed out as well.

There were about twenty of them each ready to get off high Charity. "We get to the lifts then head down to the-"Klones checked his map again."-Lets get down to the docks." Warlord Klones lead them to the lifts.

Councilor Var'ush joined him in the lift with a few others." I cannot belive this would happen but, never believed we would be betrayed." Warlord Klones simply shook his head. It was a shock but he had been preparing for this just he was not prepared for it to happen now.

As Klones stepped off the lift he took position behind crates. They all knew what they had to do. A firefight took place between Brutes supported buy Unggoy forces and Kig-yar. Sangheili Rebels surged forth in desperation.

Warlord Klones fired his weapon at any enemy forces. He struck one brute a few times before Var'ush finished the creature off.
Return plasma fire hit crates blowing chunks of plasti all over.

Plasma grenade landed pretty close both of them rolled away. Klones shields flared briefly. Var'suh shields fell but recharged with no injuries.

They both returned fire cutting down "Grunts" As the Humans called them or Unggoy with plasma fire. Warlord Klones threw a grenade at the diving methane breathers. It exploded detonating the methane in a huge explosion that took out a few Kig-yar supporting them.

Out numbered they still were able to defeat the guards at the docks. Half of there number survived. Klones had spent most of the battle supporting the other forces. As soon as the shooting stopped he worked to get the clamps undone and access to the ship.

Divine Fire docking collar connected. Alarms sounded confusingly as they made there escape. Sealing the hatch behind them he was greeted by two ship security officers. Both Sangheili sealed the hatch as the last of there group boarded.

Warlord Klones took a lift up to the bridge. As he entered he could see a battle took place. Kig-yar lay dead. A few monitors were broken. The General turned to see Klones arrive.
" We are leaving. It seems the flood are here." Klones felt the ship moving out of the bay as the huge bay doors opened.

They could see creatures with green corrupted skin rushing along the docks. They were too late to stop Divine Fire departure.

" We were able to gain access to the battle net to open the doors. Our fleet is outside engagement each other but once we restore order we will make sure nothing leaves High Charity."

"We were betrayed by the Prophets. The Arbiter has shown us the treachery. Still we will need a place to stage our attacks against the Prophets forces."

Warlord Klones agreed." I have a few planets i was setting up to be used. Once we are able i can contact others to see who is willing to join us. Then we can strike against our enemies."

The General sighed greatly." It pains me we had to kill our allies. They left us no choice. You did well getting here Warlord. High Charity is lost to us. We must try to-"

Helmsmen reported to the General." Sir we are being flagged for interdiction operations."

The General simply nodded knowing that many burdens rest on his shoulders. " When we come in range let us help in the battle."

Helmsmen pointed at a Forerunner Ship Leaving High Charity." Sir look". Both Warlord and General watched it go into Hyperspace.

Klones had other worries at the moment. It seemed as if his world was crumbling before his very eyes. He had hoped it would not come to this but Civil war was in full swing while he was held captive.

He felt a deep sense of loss. All these lives wasted. Yet they had escaped being consumed like all the rest unknowingly abroad High Charity.

Twice he nearly was killed yet he some how survived by being lucky. It was a strange twist of fate. Yet he was grateful for being alive.

Klones looked out at the ships battling as they moved closer. This would be a day drenched in blood. They would be the last ship ever to leave High Charity. It was sad but necessary at the same time.

Klones was not sure what to belive. He did know that more will be uncovered. What they will find is unknown like the uncertain future. Questions filled his mind with no answers.

Klones searched for the answers in the stars. Klones reflected on this for a great deal of time.

Chapter:4
[Divine Fire, Captains Quarters. Orbiting above Atlantis]

Klones with Conciliar Var'ush stood near the General's sleeping pod.
Zervros was attending to the General's needs.

The General was injured during the battle around High Charity. His age with the stress on his body was not good for the Elder.
They were successful in not only defeating Prophet led ships but were able to stop flood from leaving High Charity by leaving in Docked ships they were able to control.

The Arbiter had suggested an alliance with the Humans so he was meeting with them. Arbiter had appointed a Ship master to lead forces against Zealots who belive in the "Great Journey."

They were directed to head to the former human planet of Harvest. Humans would meet them on planet. He knew the humans were desperate but for an alliance to work trust must be show by both sides.

He would find out what was going on here but for now his concern was for the General.Klones had did allot of thinking. About the future. Looking at his Mentor who lay on his deathbed it all seemed far away.

" Warlord the Ship master has asked me on a suggestion from the Arbiter to assist the humans." The General said weakly." You will go in my place. I have been injured for several days now. My time is up. I shall join our ancestors soon."

Every one looked sullen no one spoke." Do not morn my passing. I have lived a full life. Warlord i want you to take command of this ship. Keep our people safe. Do what you must."

" Take care of each other. Know that our spirit cannot be broken. The Gods have chosen a new path for us. Yet i must confess i never wanted to burn those worlds. I see now that i was a tool to be used. Never again shall our people suffer so blindly."

Zervros moved over to the General's Side." Sir i ask you save your strength. You might recover." The General relaxed now listening to the wise advice." I know when my time is up. It does not matter now."

Klones spoke as he always has to the General." Sir i am at this time solidifying our supply lines. I have contacted those in the Shadow Guard to meet with me. Some i do not know if they will join or fallow the Prophets." Concern for the General showed in his voice but he kept a cool exterior.

The General nodded his head." Good."

Var'rush spoke" A few besides my self will gather soon to discuss our involvement in helping our war effort. If we can pry control from the Prophets grasp we might be able to gain traction with the other Covenant Races. Except the Brutes."

" I will work with the Warlord and Others to see that my knowledge is put to good use. That our people are able to stop this madness. The Great Journey is a lie one i shall destroy."

Klones put a hand on Var'rush shoulder who simply nodded." Rest well General." Var'rush fallowed Klones out the door falling silent. Var'rush spoke to Klones who was about to walk off but turned at the others voice to listen.

" I feel guilty Warlord. We were all deceived by Truths words. Promises of the Great Journey for years were a tool to keep us in line. One day i hope they choke on those lies." Var'rush looked sadly at the ground.

Klones shook his head knowing the feeling." We lie to protect others at times. Some use those lies to control others. We were at war once with them. They have lost sight of things. Yet i cannot help but know that our gods were not who we think they are. I have done some research with some of the Battle net data you gave me from High Charity."

" These Forerunners were quite advanced. Yet our Covenant uses this salvaged technology. It is quite intersting that we formed a Religion around all of this. Now it seems we have learned a hard lesson. Being fools thinking that there were no repercussions to this technology. Also that they were any better than we are."

" We worshiped gods who are long dead. It was another tool to control us. I seen through some of the Web of lies but i never imagined it was so deep. It feels like darkness is trying to squeeze the last of the light away. "

Var'rush nodded in agreement." Yes i feel the same. Many ask me question that i do not have answers to at this time. Perhaps we can find those answers. The Light will burn away the darkness as it has since time began. I am also glad it helped you. I was unable to save more records."

Klones turned around speaking." You saved what you could. I need to get read for the mission with the humans. You man accompany me if you wish." Var'rush shook his head no.

" I will stay up here unless you really need me. Now i must see if i can rally more support." Each left The General's door heading off to do important tasks.

"Life to you stepson and everlasting glory. " Thifes World.

[2553 Atlantis Colony, Divine Fire in orbit]

Several humans greeted Zervros when he arrived in his drop ship. It was not what he had expected now inheriting the Warlords duties. Drelos accompanied him who was not only an informant but friend of Warlord Klones.

As his ship touched down in the human camp Zevros exited with Drelos who fallowed close behind into the human camp.

It was a small scout team with a few guards but he was not here for the humans. One human silently greeted them then proceed to lead them into the jungle to where a battle had taken place some time ago.

This human looked to be a soldier in his armor carrying a human Assault Rifle. Primitive by Covenant standards. Yet Zervros fallowed him.

Zervros Knew this place it was the human Naval Base they had attacked all those years ago. The human spoke showing them the spot where a battle had taken place. Items were scattered each not touched. Bodies were removed to be buried.

" From what we can tell the battle took place here. Then moved into that building. Brutes were trying to get down that shaft. Our ODST's and Some Kick Ass Elites stopped them."

Soldier lead them thirty feet to the building he spoke about entering. Nodding to the damage." Your Leader gave his life here to stop them. " The room had damage from plasma blasts, Bullets and Explosives."

Zervros Knelt at the Energy Sword." That was his blade. We have not touched this room to honor the sacrifices made by both sides.

Helmets rested where the ODST's fell. Drelos peered inside as well. Zervros stood up looking over at the human." Thank you. We shall put a marker here to-" A holo-locket lay on the ground. Zervros bent down to touch it. A female Sangheili said in a plesent tone." Klones i love you."

Zervros left it in the same spot saying good bye to a trusted friend, Soldier and Honored Hero."-Dedicate this to every one who fell here. Had the Brutes as you call them Succeeded we would be swimming in Flood."

Human soldier said nothing turning around to escort them back to the Landing Zone. Zervros fallowed with a quiet Drelos trailing behind. Drelos knew Redemption was a high price but one that was made with out hesitation. Saying his good byes the Unggoy caught up with the other two. The sun set over the waves reflecting its glow in the water.

"Life to you stepson and everlasting glory. " Thifes World.

Authors Note: It is finished. I hope it was a good story that was informative. Elites are a veary interesting race. If i made any mistakes I aplogise.

Giveing them Depth was a challange to say the least. I tried to shadow events that happened but did not want to interact with the Halo Storyline that had been written before.

Thank you for reading i hope you enjoy it.

... why would you willingly quote the Star Wars prequels? WHY? Other than that abhorrence, not bad; a decent starting point. Try and stick at it, you'll improve. Don't just ditch it because people aren't reading - that shouldn't be why you're writing. I'd try and make your writing feel a little more alive. At the risk of breaking out a cliche, 'show, don't tell.'

Good luck anyway. Try and call them 'children' next time.

Authors Note:Not the same context. Youngling sounds more original. No i did not really rip off Star Wars. Children seems forced on such a race.

Youngling: Child or youngster who has not reached a mature age.

That i will not change. Elites are very Samurai like. Thus giving them a more violent outlook. It does not relate to Star Wars. They are much different from a Temple full of force wielding children. Who are rare in a Universe full of billions of people races or cultures.

Thank you for the comment but i feel its more reader Assosation with words.

A Samurai does not compare to a Sangheili.

"Life to you stepson and everlasting glory. " Thifes World.

Authors Comment:Like and is are very different in context. Elites were written to be honorable with a Knight/Samurai mix. Written by human writers/Developed by human gamers to be an enemy.

Each of us sees this in each Covenant race. If i were to take a gander it would be like some Fantasy races in space. Brutes are Orcs while Grunts seem to be like goblins. Elites feel like a Spartains(old0 Mixed with Samurai and Knights. So on so forth.

Sangheili are a separate race. Yet hold the ideals. So is a green apple not the same as a red apple. Different taste sure but it is an apple.

HALO Evolution showed a very japanese like environment. But it is open to intervention. So its a yes/no. Not being human i doubt they can be compared but they have traits that are close.

We all recognize those traits. Honor, Faith and Belief. They sound like a Paladin or a Knight even a Samurai.

Any ways i did not create them. So its an opinion.

Elites are Very interesting. They do show human like behavior. But to close ones mind completely shows on your part no real flexibility.

Pick up a history book sometime many of todays movies or books even games use composites or history of another people culture or race from Anchient times. or be more spesific in the comment. Also Elites are not Jedi. Thank you for commenting.

Elites are Elites. The War-masters of the Covenant and the source of major successes and the relative backbone/core of the Covenant Hierarchy, Prophets are just there to 'keep it all together' in a sense (but that's irrelevant)

They are powerful warriors on par with the Spartans. As for a Spartan being an Elite... that's impossible, otherwise they wouldn't be killing each other.
