So you make a thread or post in the main forums. Cool, it gets put under your recent posting so you can easily go back and view it.

Well what if your threads and posts in private groups were tracked as well?

Picture for reference.

Where the forum name is, in this case The Flood, that is where the private group name will be listed. Then next to that the thread your post was posted in, below that your post, and then the date modified.

Let's say that somebody was looking through your recent posting history and they come across a post from you in a private group. If that user is in the group, the post will be visible, if not, where the post's text would be, it would say something like "Join this group to see what this user has posted."

Good idea? Bad idea?

EDIT: Adding on to the original OP...
In your recent posting history, you would be able to filter your post from "X" private group. You can already do this with the main forums, but your groups would be in that drop down list as well.

I support. Would be handy in faster paced groups.

Although, it may be part of Bungie.next

I don't think most groups are active enough for this to be useful. Its not that hard to find your posts in the vast majority of groups.

I am a Floodian

This seems nice, but I'd rather have a better message system first.

I would as well.....but this whole recent post thing should be up there with fixing the messaging system.

If groups don't get a search bar, I at least want what was in my OP.

I think this is a good idea, except that if someone is not in the group where you made your post, it should be invisible - meaning that it would look like you didn't post in the group at all.

If you read through my OP carefully, I already came up with a solution to that.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

This option should be only for you and anyone else in your group though for privacy and stuff, but it would be convenient.

Actually not a bad idea having read that part.

The web team doesn't seem to care much about private group features. Hopefully that changes when the site is updated.

I know, right?
Jay acts like she's better than everyone else simply because she's a chick.
I hope she chokes to death.

I think a search bar for private groups would be more useful.

It would be for sure, but i'm just providing an alternative idea in case we can't get a search bar, but we can get this.

I would be happy with either or, but it would be great to have both.

What's there to be grateful for? This site is stuck in 2000. Am I supposed to thank the web team for extra avatars every six months?

At least it's free and fast.
It's also simple.

Yes.

OT: Only if you're in the same group.

They can only do so much at a given time. They're busy working on upgrades to the site, and in the past, also doing weekly updates. They also pitch in around the office.

Overhauling any site takes a lot of time, effort, sweat, and tears. At least the web team is giving us tidbits to hold us over until Bungie.next.

So out of my post, what should we be thankful for out of the web team? Their dedication to the site, knowing that they're always trying to improve the experience on the Bnet, and knowing that even though they may not respond, they see our request one or the other, sooner or later.

We can be grateful for one of the best web teams that the internet has to offer.

  • 09.30.2012 7:51 PM PDT

poor ilitch

That seems like it clog a user's profile with info that isn't really related to a person that isn't a member of that group, unless of course they joined because they wanted to see the post so badly. But that feature would be fairly useful, maybe like a separate tab for group post history?

Free? How many forums on the internet aren't free?

Actually it's below the average load time.

Simple, yes. I'm not complaining about the layout. If I disliked it all that much then I probably wouldn't still be here. I still don't see how simple design is something worthy of praise. My point still stands, this site is functionally no different than it was years and years ago.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

Tru7h. C4RN4GE. Bungie.

It would be a nice addition.

I don't always ban people but when I do I laugh uncontrollably...that's if I was a Forum Ninja.

Truth is a matter of perception.

The Button

No, what I post in a private group could potentially get me banned, I wouldn't want that in my post history. That's the reason I go to a PRIVATE group.
