1. There is no way for Bungie to predict the imagination of millions, so there's no way to deliver what you want.
2. I don't want them using so much time and software resources with customization that other gameplay elements suffer. Especially to create gametypes that only .002% of the Halo 3 population will every play and enjoy.
Believe it or not, not everyone likes Zombies. I played it once, and thought it was the most boring 10 minutes of Halo I ever played.
I have exactly *NO* idea how much time it would take to program this element into the game. However, I do know that spending any time on trying to make everyone happy is a waste of time. They just need to make the best game possible. If they get the core elements of the game done properly and polished early, and have some time to kill and want to throw in all the customization elements possible, so be it. But, to endeveor on a mission to please everyone all the time....why bother?
1. They don't have to take as much time as you think. Making it so you can choose a bunch of "what happens when..." will be able to increase the customization alot. If you could choose each teams weapons, and what happens when you die (like switching teams), along with all the normal choices you have now. That alone would be enoough to make zombies, and alot more interesting gametypes.
2. It's not up to you how they spend their time, and you have no idea how much time it would take for them to do this. Until you prove to me that you have experience with this part of programming a game, then you have no idea what they can do with little time.
And alot of people do like zombies, not everyone, and probably not even most, but alot do. And I was using it mainly as an example of what they should do with their gametypes, either just include them, like they did with juggernaught and others, or increase the number of options you have when you are making a game...
for some reason my post didn't work, just the quote. Anyway, the point was, you can't please all the people all the time, and any time spent with that goal is a waste.
double edit: actually, it was in there, here's my original post, which found it's way into the quote somehow...
