Propably the reason that games cost so much in other countries, it that region encoding dictates where the games can be played. in order for Bungie to be able to sell a working copy of the SE on the other side of the pond, they would have to re-encode the game disc, and the DVDs. and, by the way, this is not bungie's fault. its microsoft's, they handle all of the stuff like that. as far as I'm concerned, everything is microsoft's fault :)

well said. Lets blame every thing on Bill Gates and his cronies. BTW I can understand why Bungie arent releasing it in Europe. I live in the UK and here we have a competely different system (PAL?). It sucks but what you gonna do about it?

I think the actual reason (or part of the reason) that games cost more in Europe is that the EU has higher taxes on goods such as games. I don't know if the DVD's are made in a European factory for sale in the European market, but if they aren't, they would be imported goods and subject to even more taxes. I doubt the region-coding would make it cost more, because they have to region-code all versions of the game, even the US version.

And, i got familly in the US and I even know a girl here ,where i live, who is an American residant, so she could buy halo 2 special edition for me. Why don't we build a communauty where we all could have halo 2 special edition, by doing exportation?

The plan sounds resonable, but it wouldn't work out. Supposedly I got an American Xbox and I use a plug-adapter, I would mess up the Xbox. The thing is that they use 120 Volts in America. That's how much is coming out of the plug. Here it is 220 Volts (Germany). Now imagine me using a Xbox that is built for 120 Volts on a 220 Volts electricity system. Major damage. The fun wouldn't last too long.
