"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me"

- Batman

Yesterday I hit the topic limit (or something like that). Which basically meant I had created so many topics in that 24 hours that Bungie.net wasn't letting me make any more.

My first reaction upon seeing that was to come over to the Bungie Community forums to make a thread asking about it. It took me several seconds before I realised why that was a stupid idea.

So today I have made it. Basically yesterday was the first I heard about it, and I was wondering if someone could fill me in on a couple of things (eg. how many topics per day is it? Is there a weekly limit? Does it carry over into other public forums? etc.)

Thank you for your help.

I believe it's 7, and it's global for all public forums. That's ridiculous that you hit that, I haven't posted a single new topic in ages (excluding groups).

Key

It's seven. Calm down.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

I think it tracks topics globally (across the site, public and private in one total). Seems like I hit it one day when I made the same thread in a few different groups.

EDIT: and I think I remember posting about this before and being proven wrong, so now IDK.

Only seven?

That's interesting, I would have thought it was like ten.

I hit it a few times, that was a long time ago. It's there for a good reason though.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

I dont think i have even created 7 threads in 7 years...... well thats not true, but i hardly ever make threads.

I remember the day that SK15 said we should raise or remove it.

Who am I?

mah twitter

There's a limit, yes. And it's only a good thing, no-one comes up with that many good and original ideas for a thread in space of 24 hours. Prevents lots of spam.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

Post creation spam filter time = 30 seconds.
Topic creation spam filter time = 5 minutes.
Topic Limit = 7 per day.

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

7 per day, technically there's a weekly limit (49, 7 topics a day for 7 days), and it carries over into other public forums.

By this logic, there is also a yearly, decadely, and century(ly?) limit...

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

To avoid spam. I create a new topic like once in a blue moon. For you to post 7 in a day is pretty incredible.

Yup. But if you hit the topic limit every day, and long enough to hit it for a monthly, yearly, etc. limit; you're doing it wrong.

I understand why it is there, and I wouldn't want it removed. I can see that it stops a total rampage of trolls.

However, I do take issue with your idea that no one can come up with that many good and original topics in a day. I did (and I could have made three more had the thing not stopped me). That's not really an issue though, as I just waited and created them today.

The Internet is an empowerment tool that's agnostic; it doesn't care about race, gender, or age.

I hardly ever make threads on the public forums.

I don't even know if I could go above one thread. How do you post so many threads?

  • 10.02.2012 4:23 PM PDT

7 is enough I make less than that a month and becuase BUNGiE <3s 7.

Nope.

I like to talk about ideas thought, and to see what other people think in certain situations. 90% of my deep thoughts never leave my brain.
