After a while I've noticed that even the Scorpion tank is somewhat ineffective compared to even WWII tanks. It is extremely slow and the machine gun doesn't have much accuracy. Even the armor of a Scorpion is incapable of defectineg small arms fire. The only improvements are that it only needs two normal humans to crew and it does more damage. It is really vulnerable at all times since it is so slow. It barely moves faster than someone on foot.

I've been thinking that perhaps the tanks should move just a little bit faster. Not too much faster but a bit faster. Also, light weapons shouldn't cause too much damage to it. In theory, small arms fire wouldn't really cause any damage to a tank. But due to what we're ll used to, each weapon has to do something to it.

The main thing I've been thinking about is boarding the front section. The driver takes damage when the boarder melees the hatch. I find that to be plain stupid and annoying. The driver should still take damage, but only once the hatch has been knocked off or destroyed or whatever it is that people do with it.

If you choose to flame me or just be stupid, I will ignore all but contructive criticism or comments.

If you know how to use the tanks, then there is no difficulty.

Location: Outlaws' Summit.

scorpions change the tide of a battle...ever try to go one on one against a scorp without rockets?

it takes a platoon of about 5 with smgs to take down a scorp (without rockets)
i know cuz ive tried- in the right hands its deadly

making it faster would make my life a lot harder against one of 'em

good thoughts tho

I agree, but it would make thing a bit one sided aspecialy in MP.
Even though I mudered someone in a Tank with the magnum!
If the Tanks were like in CoD2 (realistic) then it would be too hard.

Not quite so much like that, but a magnum really shouldn't be able to do anything to a tank.

PS: It's really easy to sneak up on tanks from behind and just plant a grenade. I jumped on and stuck a grenade in the back. Kaboom. Later, he said he had no idea how he died. I explained, and he said he couldn't see me.

Good point, it'd be more fair and you would have time to get out with some shields

You see fancy things like speed and armor strength are not as important as they somehow mastered a way to make a tank that never runs out of machine gun or main cannon ammunition. Hell I'd trade some speed and armor if i knew I could never run out of ammo. lol it's a game man it doesn't have to be realistic. Besides that the tank is already imbalanced.

Besides the rocket or an occasional board (hard to achieve with motion trackers active) the tank is all but immune to all ground fire and even granades unless the attacker has the rocket which does not respawn if held by a player (in halo 2, halo 1 had a solution to weapon holders called constant respawn).

This means a tank pilot can run out grab most oftenly the single rocket on a map, get back in andf pretty much be invinsible. I still think they should pop back in the open (grate) cockpit hatch to allow all ground fire to deal damage so vehicles could return to their halo 1 status as usefull tools but not items which overpower. (Halo 1 vehicles = a trade off for more power but you were made more vulnerable as you could not exploit terrain as much and small arms fire still worked against you, halo 2 vehicles = attempt at that principle but reliance on rocket seems to be the only way to ensure equallity, though as it doesn't respawn and it uses an insta kill lock on game bal;ance is debunked).
