Halo 3

I was going to say team based for the most part. Though kill times in CE are pretty fast in comparison and a single Chief can usually dig out a nice lonewolf spree.

I'm also asking this question in a team gametype perspective. So in team slayer, would team work be highly/more encouraged in Halo CE than in the sequels?

When it comes to pub matches, team work isn't a big deal when it comes to Combat Evolved. Because of the higher skill ceiling of combat, it's fairly easy to just lone wolf it the entire time.

However, when it comes to competitive team games, I'd have to say it takes the most team based skill out of the entire franchise. Pretty much anyone who has ever played true competitive Halo: Combat Evolved Team Slayer/CTF would agree with me on this one.

I found it to be a lone-wolf type of game, to be honest. The Campaign was a one man, one show thing - even though coop was fun, most people played it first solo.

In multiplayer, I again think it was a little more lone wolf. I mean, sure you were on teams, but I'm comparing it with Halo games that came out later... I think Halo 2 revolutionized the team work type of game, and comparing those two, Halo 1 wasn't as team-based. In my opinion.

Damn I can't tell. Perhaps they all have significant teamwork in their respective ways. In order to compare I think you have to put the same gametypes of each game side to side and compare the level of teamwork needed.

Your 'beliefs' mean less than dick to me.

Anyone who knows the nuances and finer points of CE knows that it's by far the most teamwork based game in the series.

Why is this in the PC forum?

Something smells fishy...

It has become more lone wolf than in the past.

Maybe I should ask question to help compare if there is any difference in the level of team play in general. Are there games out there that shout out no team play when playing in team games?

COD.

And while Halo 1 did feature a significant amount of team situations, it was a much different kind because it was so fast-paced.

I totally forgot about COD lol. Super -blam!- teamplay in there.

Now that I think about it, is it mostly games with really fast kill times that don't require as much team work?

meh. I Feel like games with a little more diverse interaction among opponents creates team-oriented play more valuable. I also think that when players have more health it encourages more team-shot routines.
