Why does everything have to end with a ban? Instead of complaining about a situation, bring up the problem and offer up a solution.

What would be your solution be to potentially fix this, OP?

I agree with this, but it's a difficult situation to rectify.

We can't change the way people think or act unless they have an incentive to do the thing they should do rather than the thing they want to do. The only way to fix this problem, in my eyes, without bans is to hand over voting rights to a specific group of people like Mighty said. But then that loses the "community" aspect of the community competition in a major way.

Thus the banning idea.

Maybe we shouldn't have any poll based contests for a while. It would just have less drama. I remember when this thread had Ninjas vote for their favorite meme. Maybe we should do something like that. Only a group of selected people pick the finalists for the challenge.
It's not a bad idea, it just feels too exclusive. We are a Community as a whole.

Why does it bother people that much?

Get your own team of nerds on alts if it matters so much.

*sigh*
You are arguing for bans based on suspicions of alt use in Internet poll.

Rather childish if you ask me.

!!!

This.

Banning, in this situation, would literally do nothing.

The 343 forums suck. They're full of retarded kids and mods who got butthurt in the B.net forums for being told that they're bad.

Maybe you guys can just, you know, stop caring? These polls only get messed with because it's hilarious to watch the butthurt flow from this place.

I think DeeJ should give prizes from an obviously tampered contest to Jerome. All of it, to Jerome.

When names get brought up, people get banned. I like not being banned. I'll message it to you.

I'd obviously would be forever. The Ninjas could go first, and then they pick the next group of people. And the people would change every week. The Ninjas would always pick for the next week.

Ken goes to FT and says: "There's this poll, let's vote in it!"

FT goes: "Let's screw with the entire thing"

And then we screw with it. Not because we were ordered to by Ken, but because it makes threads like this.

The voting with alts only works because so many people give it attention. Even if they started banning accounts, those accounts could still vote - it won't solve anything. It's an internet contest that is just getting blown way out of proportion. If someone has 1000+ followers on twitter and tweets "everyone vote for me!" and that person gets hundreds of votes, they should be banned?

As Underdog said, internet's gonna internet.

What would be your solution be to potentially fix this, OP?
The ability to separate the votes of a single poll option into groups (separate by age, gender, account age, etc.) and only count the votes of a specific group (ie. Only count the votes of accounts that are 2+ years old)

Hope you don't get trolled by a two year old alt then.
