Vague stuff and nothing you didn't know already if you read on this site. Although, any Destiny news is always refreshing.

The only Destiny news is refreshing.

Yup. Which I am perfectly okay with. I liked SGU.

OT: Sweet! I think this suspicion has been floating around for a while (what with the whole "the game will eventually take on a life of it's own"), but it's good to get it confirmed... sort of.

I hope you die in a fire.

I love these little bits of new info. It's hard to believe that it's not too long before Bungie announces Destiny and we start learning tons.

That show was horrible...... but better than SG:1.... but still horrible.... I try to erase all memory of that show from my mind and now anything "Destiny" is solely focused on Bungie.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

I think of Pokemon, SGU, and then Bungie when I see the word Destiny mentioned.

I want Destiny to have...sharks with freakin' lasers on their head. Can we get that? Yeah, that'd be great. Bam, two movie references.

I assume someone's posted here the Activision/Bungie contract? It's got some pretty detailed stuff. (Or will I get banned? :P)

In particular, it seems my Linux crusade won't go anywhere, and the first installment won't even be on PC (not natively, anyways).

Bungie seems to have gotten some pretty sweet terms, though I'm sure Activision was happy to get any rights at all to a Bungie game.

Edit: I found a typo in the contract :D
Edit2: Apparently, if possible, Activision will acquire a license for Bungie to use this (version control, like Git/SVN).

Silence, you. Stargate: Universe was and is fantastic, and it's a true shame it's canceled. It was a fantastic show. It is very unfortunate that the Science Fiction channel decided to use it as a way to experiment with timeslots instead of keeping it in the one it received good ratings in.

I am praying for an FPS MMORPG game. I would love to play a game like that. I am getting hyped.

[...] planned to be massively-multiplayer-style (i.e., client-based mission structures with persistent elements), sci-fantasy, action-shooter games... [4 of them] ...major downloadable content expansion pack-type software releases developed by Licensor for Destiny Game (collectively, "Comets" and individually, each a "Comet" or "Comet #1", "Comet #2", "Comet #3" and "Comet #4" as applicable)...

Edit: Apparently Destiny isn't the only game, "Marathon" is mentioned more than once... and a few "key" Bungie employees are specifically mentioned in the appendices (which I haven't seen).

Rain, and Jazz.
Halo: Tactical

I'm either a fool or an inteligent man, depending on how sleepy or angry I am.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

I suspected it was going to be a sandbox-type, what with all the factions and such. I'm glad to know that the darkness is getting thinner.

Bungie has dropped a few clues to its currently in-development game, Destiny.

Scheduled for release next year, Destiny has been rumoured to be heading to current gen consoles (as well as eventually continuing on next-gen machines) and is the studio's most ambitious game to date.

To build a big game you need a lot of talented developers and in a recent blog post on Bungie.net, the studio revealed it had acquired the talents of ex-Rockstar and Red Dead Development developer, Danny Bulla.

"We liked Red Dead Redemption so much that we hired Danny Bulla to come here and help us fill your next sandbox. He's doing some amazing work and, so far, he hasn't tried to lash any of us to a pair of railroad tracks."

Could Destiny become more open world as a result?

Destiny's world is also a noisy place, though we're not quite sure what that means. Bungie's new sound designer has been visiting dumps and recording the sounds of metal scraping against metal

"The events depicted in our next game happen in a noisy place, and we'll need entire orchestra of artists to provide the sounds you'll hear when you play."

If you were in any doubt Bungie's new game was headed to Xbox 360, then senior engineer Mike Forrest's assertion that he's enjoying getting to grips with the console's architecture should help put the speculation to bed.

"My favorite work so far has been learning about the low level architecture of the Xbox 360 while optimizing various bits of encryption code. I've always enjoyed squeezing performance out of systems and working within the confines of a console game engine is a great excuse to exercise that muscle," Forrest said of working on the project.

Another thing I have found really interesting... was that the Senior Engineer was also in charge of the team behind 1 vs. 100... as far as other projects he was involved with, I didn't find anything else, however this guy is really smart- worked for Well-Fargo for quiet some time and also had owned his own restaurant.

From this I'm concluding that this game will feature online interactions that are unique to what we currently expect to see out of a console platform... also that it's MMO-esque, I'm really hoping that we'll see the idea of 'timed matches' thrown out, and in it's place a continuous/indefinite affair between players and groups.
