Ok lets get to the point. This is horrible. Every time someone gets the butt kicked they move right to the "YOUR A CHEATER" speech. Accually it is in a order they go by.

-Join server
-Get killed
-Call the killer a cheater
-Yell at him
-He yells at you
-Both get banned because of the person calling him a cheater

This is horrible. Look here I was just playing and took these screens.

Ok, I was playing and we were losing. I manage to get past the tanks 2 times and get to the person in the hog. Stickied him and killed him. A second later I got killed.

In shock the person in the hog yelled CHEATER.

So I ask. How am I a cheater? Even if I was it would still be a good story to hear.

Image: http://img471.imageshack.us/img471/866/19bc1.png

In responce he told me I was teleing. Having no idea what he was talking about I considered he was talking about 3 things.

1. I was telling and he just spelt it wrong, but this didn't make sence.
2. I was lagged and I moved from one place to another. Possible, no one goes without a lag once in a while.
3. I telaported using the green telaporter in the base to get past the tanks, and that was cheating to try to defeat agenst tanks that where camping.

Image: http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/1074/26rl.png

Making no sence to me I left it at that.

I killed him again in the hog outside of our base. Just to make sure I asked did I cheat. In him being tired of me proving him wrong or just saying something stupid he said. You shouldn't move.

Image: http://img68.imageshack.us/img68/1840/41wp1.png

This is weird 3 things didn't go right here.

1. He stopped. He didn't continue to fight with me about cheating. Thank god.
2. He didn't yell. (use Caps)
3. We didn't get banned.

This is the main reason it needs to stop. I have been banned from 3 servers for talking to someone who accusses me of "cheating" this isn't fair to me because I lose out on the fun while they get to continue to play. Now the only way to get back onto that server is to prove I wasn't cheating or buy a new copy of halo.

My guess is that he thought you were 'teleporter-camping'. While not "cheating", per se, it is sort of a dirty tactic.

This is the main reason it needs to stop. They're trying to get you banned so they can win, even though you know (and perhaps they know too) that you weren't cheating.

Buying a new copy of Halo won't solve anything, because you were probably Direct IP banned, which has more to do with your internet than your copy of Halo.

Are you sure you were perma-banned? Most first-time offense bans only last 10 minutes. I agree that cheating needs to stop.

Whens someone calls me a cheater, I take it as a compliment. That usually throws them off.

In my oppinion if somebody kills me fairly then it's all cool.. But if they are killing me from far away then i personaly go and kick the crap outta them =-D Same with anybody else..

I once went into a server and he was standing in the gunner seat of a rocket hog.. About 5 people plasma naded him and shot him and the hog did NOT move! THEN the hog moved to like a mile away WITHOUT a driver.. So i told him he was cheating and he said it was a mod so i told him he was a noob fro being such a coward in giving himself such an advantage where as he could teleport wherever he wanted and NEVER die.. So he kicked me =-( I would LOVE to see how long he lasts in a server with NO mods... One word PWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWNED!

Yes this need to stop! I have saw manytimes when i have bee playing that i have been called ''CHEATER!''
Example. I drive alone on hog and direct at me there is tank he miss the shot i jump out the car and throw granade at him take shotgun and go near to him and shoot so got killed.

Usualy when some use tactics and patience they survive and lead theyr team to Victory. This too make others say anything about you all the time like ''yuo noob cheater'' and it goes all the time.

Usualy they ho say things like that are ''Newbs''.

But i agreed very higly at this same matter with you Xeniczone ''Calling others Cheaters and Hackers REALLY NEEDS TO STOP''

Ditto.

As wrong and as retarded it is to falsely accuse someone a cheater just because they're a better player than you, I usually reply, "Wow! Thanks for the compliment! You must think I'm a really good player to falsely accuse me of cheating!"

The only "cheaters" ive seen were on modded servers and they float in the air and hundreds of active cammos spawn only on the red side and they have teleporters that go to the sniper tower and back.

It's getting pretty annoying to keep replying to all those, ''OMG stop cheating'' people,so i just ignore them.

The reason I don't go around calling people cheaters when I stick a plasma grenade to somebody's chest with no effect is because A., how can I be sure this person is cheating/hacking? I don't want to look like a huge retarded calling someone a cheater when they're not actually cheating, B., maybe it's just the way this game is built which screws things up, and C. Wierd things happen in videogames, so I get over it.

Buying a new copy of halo will fix the issue of being banned. I ran a DS some time a go. It bans you through your product code. (encyriped or course or their would be a lot of stolen product codes)

This is why when we first started up the server we when online and installed halo like 20 times using illegal product codes then named our selfs illegal#1, illegal#2, etc... then banned our selfs. What this does is when someone with a stolen product code trys to join our server it would tell them they have been banned, and it worked well.

I wasn't camping I just pop up and kick his ass.

Yes, it just encrypts your Product ID (NOT product key), and bans by that.

Your product ID is unique to your product key, and is the number that is normally under "If you need technical support, have this number ready:XXXXX-XX-XXXXX-XXXXXX"

I was banned once on a friends server (ya I deserved it >:P) And I was trying to prove that I could get around it, I did, except he thought I was another friend who had been making him angry (By calling RuneScape -blam!-) so that product key got banned to....

To this day he thinks you're banned by your name :P

Don't drink to excess– You might shoot at tax-collectors... and miss

Computer: Power Mac G5 CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (2.2) Number Of CPUs: 2 CPU Speed: 1.8 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 1.25 GB Bus Speed: 900 MHz

ATi Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition
Display Type: LCD Resolution: 1680 x 1050 Depth: 32-bit Color

It really does not have to stop. It probably will not. As you get better, it will get worse.

1) Don't respond unless they use your name. Then make short denial and continue to play.

2) What's your ping usually like? What's the ping of your oponent usually like? If you're warping around it may seem like you're cheating.

3) Taking screen shots can make you warp around. I don't think fraps does it or at least it does not seem to do it as bad. How did you get your screen shots?

4) Server ops that ban for playing better than them are losers– find a better server.

5) I set my filters for servers with <100 ping. That pretty much keeps me on dedicated servers. If your connection is good, (broadband), play should be reasonably smooth.

6) ALL CAPS does not always mean yelling, in game at least. My "Tab" key switches my weapons. It's right above my "Caps Lock" key. I often hit "Caps Lock" by accident when switching weapons. I would not put special emphasis on stuff you see in all caps.

ya....people who actually argue about them dying cause they think they are sooo great should not play....I hate it!!

I joined a server once with 4 on 4...my team was dying left to right and in the end I managed to stop and kill the enemies good player many times over...and he then called me a noob...pfff what an idiot..I ended up winning the game for my team and then the host which was the enemies 'good' player quit....

we r?

I like it when you get a headshot, and they call you a cheater, because the sniper trail doesn't show sometimes, but I ignore them. I mean, I racked up 14-1 ratio, with a pistol leading shots, and they all quit lol. I was all by myself and scored the 3 flags lol.

  • 06.26.2006 3:35 PM PDT

lol

Dude you were playing against someone who couldn't type. And he said 'teleing' - which means you were jumping aroudn because of lag. As then he said you moved.

Hes just not too familar with Halo. And being banned from 3 servers is NO big deal.

Chill dude

my girlfriend gets this all the time on the demo.

people join her game only to complain that she's host among everything else, although it doesn't really have to do with that. I've seen alot of them and they don't play as smart as she does.

no offense to them

Something I found out after I purchased the full version of Halo was that the demo version of multiplayer is, ironically, more fun than the full version. It's somewhat hard to explain.

It's like the movie previews at the movie theaters. They take all the best parts of the movie and show them in a one and a half minute long clip, so they persuade you to see the whole movie. In fact, that's what I enjoy most about going to the movie theaters- the commercials! :D

But that doesn't mean it's better than the full version's multiplayer, oh no.

I know what you mean. It's rather odd, isn't it? I mean, here we have the full version of this great game, and yet we want to play a free download of the same game, with less features. It's bizarre. :/

You want to all that trouble, took screenies, hosted them, and posted because some obvious f***tard accused you of cheating?

Ignore the fools, or wind them up, but dont get annoyed about it.

Your only on this planet for a limited time. Dont waste it on people who dont deserve it.
