This tweet
And this tweet

How do you think Bungie feels about their 'baby growing up' away from home and how the community will respond to both that and their new project? How do you feel about it?

It's kinda surreal and somber to me, but at the same time adventurous and excited.

Also just want to take this time to apologize for doubting you guys. You've made ridiculously awesome games that have been part of many lives for many years. <3 bungie.

A bit of nostalgia for you all.

Probably the same way parents feel about their kids moving out if the house. They know it's for the best, but it's still really sad. Now that kid is married and is starting a family soon, so the parents will have fond memories of when their kid was with them, and they're looking forward to seeing their future grandchildren.

It is, what about it? Halo Waypoint was made by 343i, which is owned by Microsoft.

It's got to be hard for them. Sure, publicly there's "no hard feelings" and all, but... Halo really was their baby, and no matter what anyone says, it has got to be difficult to watch another developer continue your legend.

The tweet I'm seeing is, " My, my... Doesn't @HaloWaypoint look shiny. We look forward to digging your gold.". Am I missing something? What's so sad about Halo Waypoint?

Look at the background. It's Halo 4. They're talking about playing Halo 4. It's sad because Bungie spent 10 years on Halo.

It's just as Duardo said. It's for the best, even if you kind of feel a little sad about it.

It's the connotation behind it that makes me sad, not the literal words in it (though the word choice definitely maximized that emotion).

Also, this tweet amplified my reaction to the first one.

I could imagine it can be difficult to see Halo being promoted, but personally I'm indifferent, the passing on of the Halo cannon allowed us a chance to have something completely new (& hopefully awesome) from Bungie.

You're absolutely right, and I'm sure that's how they feel too - but I'm sure they would have rathered to go out with a bang with Halo and have it finished at that, on their own terms, instead of another team continuing with it.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

Busting asses, donkeys confirmed. No but seriously, busting asses (if not meant to be a state they are always in) implies a crunch time. Crunch time usually refers to a milestone. Perhaps that milestone is reveal trailer? Getting the game good enough to show off?

But I suspect I'm wrong and they mean Busting asses as a constant state of development.

Or maybe they don't really care. They had their fun, now they're working on something new.

I don't get why everyone feels Bungie's sad about what happened. It's just a game series that they worked hard on; the way they're conducting themselves now, their new game should be just as badass.

Hell, maybe they're even thankful that Halo's actually being continued at all, as opposed to being cut off at Reach.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

They probably feel sad about having to let go of their baby in the first place, and see it grow on its own.

The best way to put it is that we all know Bungie worked hard to get the deal with Activision to state that they will get to maintain control and ownership of everything they produce (ex: the copyrights to names, titles, game-related indicia, etc.), so that if Activision wants to do something with it in the future Bungie can say, "NOPE!"

I think that speaks for itself as to whether or not they are a little annoyed at what Microsoft has chosen to do with the Halo franchise.

Just saying.

I've challenged my beliefs. What is the book about?

I find that this is usually untrue. If religious people honestly, diligently and intelligently challenged their beliefs, there would be no religious people.

Seriously, bungie's done so much good, and Halo's just one part of their history. I'm more excited to see what new stories and adventure's they're going to add to their consistently excellent (a quality not all too common among game developers) library than sad to see them let Halo go.

I'm excited for Bungie, but sad for them too.

They created a beautiful monster, that literally revoluionised first person shooters, console gaming and what multiplayer could be like.

I nostalgia hard playing the games. I was 18 when Halo CE came out. Damn, best years of my life playing Halo 2 with Bro's at University.

You are part of my life Bungie

(apologies for naughty words in the video...but the feels are the main focus)
