Yesterday I played in a 16 man slayer. The idiot host picked a stupid gametype that only he is good at (Chiron, shotguns, no shield) so out of disgust one of the players in the room killed himself. He then noticed he got a point for it. Then all four of us stopped shooting and just threw grenades strait down over and over again until the game ended. At the end we took four of the top five spots. At the beginning of the next game (an even stupider gametype) we tested it right away and the same thing happened. This time we swepped the game. We then proceeded to run to the host's room and tell him how much we pwned him and that he can't host anymore. He is still unaware of how we won.

The point of this thread is to ask what the blam was causing suicides to give us points. Is this an easter egg, a bug, or is Bungie trying to persuade people who pick stupid gametypes to kill themselves in real life?

I've always been penalized by losing a point. Was the suicide penalty turned off (when you're respawn time is longer)? Maybe turning it off also allows you to get points for suicides.

turning off the penalty should still make you lose points for suicide. it was a strange fluke. consider yourself lucky and go get lucky.
