I say give him the damn game, now i wish i was dying of cancer...

DUN BE AN IDIOT MAN, LIFE IS FAR BETTER THAN A COPY OF HALO 2 OR HALO 3, OR ANY MATERIAL THING IN THIS WORLD. I BET THE GUY WOULD CHANGE THE PRIVILEGE TO PLAY HALO 2 JUST TO LIVE ONE MORE MONTH OR SO AND BE NEXT TO HIS LOVED ONES. I SINCERELY FEEL BAD FOR THE GUY WHO MAY NOT GET TO PLAY HALO 2, BUT AT LEAST HE HAS A GOOD FRIEND, THE ONE WHO MADE THIS TOPIC AND CARES A LOT ABOUT HIM! PROPS TO U MAN, AND TELL UR FRIEND TO DUN GIVE UP, MIRACLES HAPPEN. I BET MY LIFE ON THAT!

I (sincerely?) hope that your friend gets better. I wouldn't want my friend to die of cancer.

Are you kidding or what? It may be one thing to live a month or two, but its only pain and suffering if your bored the whole time, if you have nothing to do but sit, die, and watch golf or crap all day or if you just sit there in pain, waiting for someone to come or wondering what will happen if you die, or if you dont and you have to suffer and be bored for years to come, Im not trying to be mean or heartless, im trying to let you see through his eyes, and then maybe youll understand why he wants halo 2, hes just someone you dont know but he is someone, he may be in a hospital or not, i dont know but he still suffers and he knows he might die, think of you like that and see how you would feel. But some people are heartless and I don't have a problem with that, Im just so dissapointed that people like godhandiscen cant think hard about what they say before they say it so pointlessly, and SCREAMING it too.

The best idea I saw in here by far was to get him the Red Versus Blue season dvds. That would probably make his year! It did mine when I first stumbled upon them. I hope he gets well. I'll pray.

Quick Update - I'm not too worried about some of the responses. It's a big world, and like someone said, some people are hard hearted - others may not have communicated clearly or just can't believe that people get struck down with terrible diseases at all ages, even if we know the hospitals see tons of people too young to die. The update from Jason's mother is that his recent bone marrow scan and check on his foot came back negative - that's great, but they think they've found another tumor in his abdomen. I talked with him a couple of days ago and found out that he would probably like a Halo 2 shirt, so I'll look into that. Also, the manager of the store where I have reserved a copy of Halo 2 said I should call him a few days before Nov. 9 and he'd see if he could come up with something special.

I don't know if this is happening to anyone else, but every time I see the subject as I'm browsing around on the forum, I keep reading this one as "Looking for good gift ideas for Halo with nut cancer." I just thought it was too funny not to share. Glad to hear Jason's doing a little better. Killing tumors is good.

hahaha i thought the same thing.. lol

I'm really sorry jdjohnston, i think if u write a letter to Bungie i'm sure they'd understand and have all the members in this discussion names down as if it were a signature of all of us saying please to them that might do it.

Dude, This made me cry, I am so sorry I can't help, but I will do my best, so here it is: *praying* Dear God,

Please let there be a cure for cancer, and always look out for jason, he is only eighteen, he has whole life ahead of him, so please God, look after Jason, and keep him safe, always.

Thank you dear lord,
AMEN.

See if you could rent a master chief otufit and get someone to walk in and wish him to get better :) Thats would be cool... but seriously, good luck to you're friend man.. I kinda know what it feels like because I myself have a tumour in my left leg that is constantly growing bigger, and it's really annoying.. but it isn't life threatning or anything, at least right now, and I dont think it ever will be.. and I will get to play halo 2 for sure. Hope he pulls through.

Hey tell your friend we are all rooting for him to make it. Eat his vegatables, and listen to te doctors.

Make a wish foundation. www.wish.org
Red Vs. Blue
Beat the game on legendary with him
or
Just be there for him. Remember that he is probably very scared right now and that the number one thing you can do for him is to be there or at least a phone call away. It is hard to have everyone think that you could pass away at any minute so just treat him like the good friend I am sure he is and hope/pray that he beats the odds. My mother did it your friend can do it also.

Jason I hope and pray that you get more good news, and that you make a full recovery. I WILL see you one X-Box Live fight it, believe it, and it will come true.

I don't have any other updates on Jason yet, but thanks for all the prayers and thoughts. I don't think he is too obsessed with Halo or other games. For weeks at a time he has been going through treatment at the hospital, and then at home dealing with the nausea, etc. When he has a week or two without chemo he gets feeling better - physically and emotionally. I don't know what the doctors will recommend or what Jason will decide to do with their recommendations. Since he is 18 he can make the final decision on continuing treatment or which treatment he is willing to go through.

I've tried emailing the bungie webmaster (twice) and MicroSoft PR (a couple of times) - no response. The editor of Xboxmagazine.com wrote me back 2 or 3 times but he has no direct contacts with bungie. I will take your advice and try a letter but I'm sure they are overly busy and Jason may get lost in all the activity - but I'll try a short but informative letter.

As to Jason, he's been in a pretty good mood - feeling pretty well even while in chemotherapy, plus one of his best friends is home on break from college and he got at new laptop. He's suppose to see a couple of specialists next week to talk about this new tumor. Keep praying. Thanks to the Lord and all of you. He's getting about 300 pages a day from people showing that they are praying for him. It would be cool if some said things like "From John in Michigan". Since it receives text messages, you can send a short email - like 1 -2 short sentences to 8004566812@archwireless.net .

Well, I was going to offer for a bone marrow transplant, but seeing as he is not cancerous in those areas I am at a loss. Keep fighting.
