Subject: Halo 3 is going to be huge! Here is why:

Each time someone stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. That hope is three little numbers: 1 - 1 - 7.

There is hope in us all. We gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face. We must do the thing which we think we cannot do; stand with the Master Chief and Finish this Fight!

We have all longed for some special game to come out and grab our attention, quickly becoming favourites in our hearts after endless hours of gameplay. In this repsect, the first game I ever loved was System Shock 2.

It grabed me by the balls, threw me out of the window and stomped me the ground with its plot, character build up and intense moments of horror which have yet to be recreated. As an FPS sci-fi game it totally ruled and I cannot wait for its sequel Bio-Shock to come out on the 360.

Back to point, since that game I looked high and low on the PC platform for an advisary to those intense adrenaline moments where I would have to think fast and act faster.

Then I heard someone say "Halo" on a new Microsoft console called the Xbox and that there were also books out for it too. Against my friends wishes I went out and bought "Halo: The Fall of Reach" and and Xbox console with Halo as my first ever console game. I started reading the book and as soon as I started, the storyline and events that happend in the book gave me a realistic view of what a hero is.

John 117 is the epitomy of heros in our modern day and age where we are finally able to look up to someone, but the storyline in where we follow John aka the Master Chief from the "Fall of Reach" into the first game of the series (Halo: Combat Evolved) is what makes us love the Halo universe all-together.

Even when Halo 2 came out and efforts were focused by Bungie on the multiplayer aspects of the game, the story telling never lost its cutting edge or intesity that we saw in the books or in the prior Halo game.

Admitelly there are some holes where the games and books sort of go in opposite directions, but this is not the time to highlight those. Rumour has it that a third book is coming out along with a movie and a third and finall instalment to the gaming series. This will hopefully fill most of the reaming holes in the story thus giving us the best story of our generetion since the Star War era and Lord of the Rings!

What ever happens in the gaming aspect of Halo the plot was always there to tells us the story of a little boy called John, who was raised to beleive in honour, duty, sacrifice, to follow him from losing his first Spartan comrade, to learning that he is the last of his kind, that he is the only one that can save the Earth from the Covenant.

I believe that he will win this fight, even thought John was never the strongest, the fastest, or the smartest, he was always the luckiest, and no matter what happen in the future events of the story, John has never lost a fight.

So bring on Halo 3, bring on the comic, the film and the book and lest find out about the final chapter on the Halo Rings, the Marines, Cortana, the Flood, the Covenant, and about John and his friends that fight to save Earth!

Cheers Fraser. I owe you one, I was caught up in the moment, and for some reason I got the title wrong!

Somebody explain to this little boy that there already is a third book. Also, explain that the books, and the games, are part of the whole story. Bungie explained that the story of the games, is not directly influenced by the books. Because they were written by someone else, but approved by Bungie. The books fill in gaps.

Also, it is spelled Honor, not "Honour"??

I do not count the second book as a book, it was not a book of quality standards to the other 2. Plus I know the books do not influence the game but they dont actually fill in the story, they tell the story.

Plus I am soooo sorry about the spelling error. Like I said I was thinking too fast for my finger to type correctly.

halo 3 is going to be awesome.

It's going to hit the world like a -blam!-, and then drag it for 50 yards.

"Halo: The Flood" is, in fact, a book; it has pages, a cover, and a spine. Unless you're saying it's not a story, which you're wrong there, too; it has all the elements of a story, an exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. Conclusion: "Halo: The Flood" is a story.

There've been rumors of a movie since Halo: Combat Evolved. Halo 3 is not news on this forum, hence the 400 pages of threads inside of it.

I was just trying to say that even if the game is a flop, even if the comic books down answer questions, even if the film will be trashed the story is still awsome.

Think about what you're saying.

You're saying that if the game, comics, and movie all fail to please Halo fans, then the story will still be good? How so?

Woah it sounds to me like a few of the people here aren't necessarily great halo fans, or if they are they are so intent on trying to flame people for spelling errors or some minor inconsistencies within the person's writing that they're getting way off the point,

The matter is, that we won't know what Halo 3's like until we get it, i personally will do the exact same thing i did two years ago before Halo2 came out and sit by the dim irridescent light given off by my computer for hours drooling over every screenshot and video bungie gives out and ponder every web theory until i get the game the day it comes out because i payed the extra 20 bucks on Amazon .com for same day delivery, then i will stay locked up for 3 days with only an adequete supply of cheetose and gatorade and my 360 with Halo 3 and soak up all the nerdy goodness i can until i've beaten it on legendary after which I will contine to play on live periodically until the next "Halo" comes to brighten the lives of nerds, geeks, and all the like

All i can hope for is that Halo 3 brings back the hardcore feelings of Halo 1 with a plotline even better than that of Halo2
