Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I for one think Reach is good and that one of Bungie's only fails was armor lock.

Trying to get Waypoint to update Halo 3 stats in detail like here. Now no one can see that my Halo 3 Spartan no longer looks like my Reach Spartan.

Really want to be a Heroic member or have a title. :/

I think that Halo Reach is a great game and I don't understand all the hate. It isn't as good as Halo CE, Halo 2, or Halo 3, but reach is pretty good.

I have mixed feelings for Halo 4 though. I like what i've seen so far of gameplay, but I wish that they would use some of the original music instead of all the new stuff.

I want to know how the Reach haters feel about Wars. I think the game was more on the good side then bad, but It is still my least favorite.

Halo Wars was great for what it was- a functional console RTS. I was really impressed with what they were able to do. By PC standards, Halo Wars wasn't all that great, but I think they did a fantastic job making the commands feel as natural as possible on the 360.

The 343 forums suck. They're full of retarded kids and mods who got butthurt in the B.net forums for being told that they're bad.

Here's the thing: Halo Reach was a fairly good game by itself. However, it isn't "by itself" because it's part of the Halo series, and those games are far better than "fairly good". "Fairly good" for a Halo game is basically a D grade.

I played Halo 3 up until Reach came out. I gave up on Reach months ago. If Reach hadn't been released, I'd still be playing 3. If 3 never came out, people would still have been playing Halo 2 in mass quantities for years. Reach was given up on by far more people before the next game was released just two years later, while the prior games sustained amazing populations up until the next game was released THREE years later.

Don't get me wrong, Halo Wars is a great game, but I don't think its quite as good as the ones made by Bungie and 343i.

And BTB, Halo Wars was an unplayable piece of crap. Anyone who hasn't tried it, do yourself a favor and don't.

Reach was great, everything save armor lock. That was a bad call. Forced me to use it since I like CQC, because otherwise you'd just be murdered.

But you're comparing games of a completely different genre. Bungie never made a Halo RTS, and 343i never made a RTS period.

~:O>~~

Anyone who remembers the camraderie around the release of the original Halos in the early 00's, will remember the passion and excitement that surrounded the franchise- and how it so easily defined our childhood and good portion of our lives. A large portion of us have grown accustomed to seeing Halo as an impermeable entity, so when Halo Reach was just average and in some aspects mediocre... our gaming spirits broke and we have been resentful ever since. We wanted to see Bungie create a Halo that would take over the market as it did in the early days of online gaming, but... so it's not Reach that a lot of you have a problem with, it's accepting Reach as a product and extension of Bungie's Halo that you need to get over. It's okay, open your arms and minds and see for what Reach actually is, and don't allow your expectations that you had before get in the way of seeing that game for what it is.

It's just a game... it has it's ups and downs, but overall it's just average.

"Average" for a Halo game is the same as garbage.

1: Just because they wanted it to feel more like Halo CE doesn't mean they actually succeeded in doing so.

2: Fast paced =/= Call of Duty pace. Halo 2 and 3 were fast paced, yet had shield systems and slower kill times than CoD. Reach, however, is the slowest Halo game to date. And you're the one with no views at different angles. Hmmm, how could groggy movement and aiming mechanics be a bad thing? Movement acceleration trashes quick changes in direction, which trashes strafing, which is a vital part of movement-based combat because half of the skill in playing Halo is being able to dodge bullets whilst you are hitting other opponents. The end result is not that of a strategic game of chess...

3: More bloom still generates many lucky circumstances and promotes unnecessary, class based combat (combat based upon decisions mindlessly made outside the game). Bloom at its core just makes the game awkward, slow, and random/luck-based, which isn't approved of in a skill-based shooter; how much skill is involved in winning a game of heads-or-tails?

You're really not worth arguing beyond this point. You really should at least be somewhat decent at Halo if you want to make arguments based upon what competitive Halo gameplay is and should be like.

MORE bloom generates more consistency NOT RANDOMNESS in the long run but i do agree about the class based combat.
You are being punished with randomness when you don't abide to the rules of bloom.

And if you want to bring up randomness enjoy Halo 4 , brand new with RANDOM PERSONAL ORDNANCES , which can vary from a needler, to a one shot kill sniper rifle (binary rifle), to a REGULAR sniper(sense?), to a rocket launcher , etc....

Isn't that random mate?Yet Halo 4 will still succeed , proving my point that Reach acted as a frontline for people to accept the change.
Plus the community is so bad in this game that adding the Battle Rifle in the game can actually make people believe that the game is actually now good.

And to your last and quite stupid point.

So predictable you are you had to bring up my "rank".
You know I could have not used my real forum name right?
You know It could be another tag for my serious playing and this one just for split screen right?

If you can't believe and accept any of these situations and you are seriously so shallow and superficial to think that I have to display a good Halo 3 rank to you in order to participate to a good conversation about the skilled aspects of the game then I challenge you to play with me (be it Reach or Halo 3 ) on christmas that am getting back to my hometown.

According to your childish and shallow logic , people who are better than you are correct?

You do know that you can probably beat any of the developers balancing halo 4 weapons in the game right?
Yet they are the ones that balance the weapons.

My rank , and most correctly the one you see , has nothing to do with my knowledge about the game or my ability to think about it , so please do yourself a favor and use better logic than that next time.

Exactly. All I'm saying is that compared to the real halo games, I don't think Halo Wars is as good. I like Halo Wars, but because it is RTS instead of FPS I think the other Halo games are better.

So lower our expectations. Sounds like a great idea. I mean, why should I expect a game of equal or better quality than its predecessors, right?

They took out Bloom, Halo 4 and Reach are totally different because of that alone. Thankfully.
