Ok, so I just got my Xbox 360 back from repair today (I was one of the unlucky ones with a faulty console) and I signed up for Xbox Live with a free one month Gold trial... everything was working fine until I actually went to play Halo 2. I signed in as my profile on Live, got the updates, restarted, and signed in again, and it said that I had an important message from Xbox Live. My 2 options were to quit to the dashboard to my account management or to continue offline. So I quit to account management, but I couldn't find any messages. I checked my message center and no messages were there, either. So I can't log on to Live and play me some Halo 2 with real people.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

yes. Go into your xbl settings blade and go make sure all the child locks are off. Usually they are set so that they are on (to some effect) and if it was repaired, chances are it was reset. Once everything is set to allow you to play original xbox games, you'll be on your way to halo 2 fun.

Thank you. I am going to try it out right now, and I think the problem is fixed because original Xbox Games were blocked, even though I changed it when I first got the console... maybe I hit B instead of A or something...
