This world wants to drag you down... And the weight, that guilt they want to hang around your neck, you don’t have to carry it one more step. You think they won’t let you rest, but it’s not up to them. It never was.

didnt read any submissions, just voted for irish freak like ken asked us to This is getting a little annoying now. The winner (who I should remind you, gets a swag bag) should be determined by what people feel is the best submission, not by some private group that desides to spam the polls every week.

  • 10.10.2012 9:48 AM PDT

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Earlier in this thread I posted that I would not vote for anyone because I didn't like any. But in the end, I've voted for irishfreak. Most other submissions were just really cliche and predictable, while irishfreak's was actually funny.

I just saw a green monkey nut shot a small tan lizard(?) in a gunny sack.

I think even without the votes that Ken drudged for, irishfreak's submission was still good enough on it's own merits. The others were predictable poems about the darkness, whereas his was a funny jab at one of the most long-standing 'problems' of this community.

It's been a busy week behind the scenes. I let this rage for too long, but Irish Freak was the logical winner the whole time.

Freak, send me your vital statistics. Name, Location, Size.

As for this contest being rigged, the accusation seems to allege that influence was brought to bear to have an impact on the results. By that logic, are not all contests rigged?

  • 10.10.2012 4:12 PM PDT

The Mythics did not rig this. It was.. youknowwho.

Nope. You're just making excuses for the illegitimate way in which these Contests are being conducted. I'd respect you so much more if you just admitted there's a very good likelihood that they're being tampered with and go with the idea of having people inbox you or some dummy account submissions (one message/person) and then not reveal the names until after voting had occurred. This would significantly help the whole "rigging" situation.

Also, if people are shown to have been serial contest-tamperers (specifically one person), then they should be given a ban. It's stupid to do something like that and goes against the "play nice" clause in The Rules.

WHO?!

  • 10.10.2012 4:17 PM PDT

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

That devastates me. I will remind you that we are awarding a t-shirt here, not selecting the leader of the free world.

If it upsets you so much, I could just pick the winner myself.

Don't get me wrong. I definitely have respect for you and I'm positive you don't care what I care about the situation (not from a "I don't care about the fans"-perspective, but from a "tuning out this raving lunatic who whines about community contests"-perspecitve). Respect was the wrong word and I'm sorry for using it. I guess I meant to say "I'd like the situation a lot more if etc., etc."

Hopefully that cleared things up. (For the record, I'm still for keeping the community voting if we can.)

I figured as much. If you guys want to have a voice, you'll have to retain a sense of humor about the fact that some groups will have louder voices than others. This is a valuable thing for me to study. I do study you, be advised. Carefully.

And I do care what you have to say about these things, which is why I reply.

DeeJ, is it possible that your webteam is using this kind of contest as a test subject to improvise the new website? Like a new system to prevent tampering polls or preventing alternative account duplication to do such things?
