Per Audacia Ad Astra

This idea arrived about 5 minutes ago when I noticed a particular post had been quoted by multiple users, but nothing was included in the posts with the quote on its own.

E.g.Posted by: ~

To possibly counter this posts could have a visual representation of whether others are in agreement of the post's statement. The only problem is whether this will require more data than is necessary, and how frequently this feature would be used.

The posting of the lone-quote may actually demand less data than the amount of 'agreements' any individual post has.

What do you think? This is a raw idea, so flaws are expected.

Facebook has Likes, such as feature has been discussed before but generally with the 'Like' feature that Facebook has. You shouldn't immediately imply I am suggesting Bungie.net must become a social network.

He'd be right though. It is kind of a similar idea.
And this isn't Facebook. This is much better.

Bumblebees are of the class 'Insecta'. They are insects.

This site is not Facebook. This site is not Twitter. This site is not 4chan. This idea has been suggested a thousand times before. I like the forums the way they are right now. This idea will cause elitism. This feature would be abused. I prefer to judge posts on their content. This community used to be great. The dark background is better. Why don't you just use coup, OP?

Thanks.

And I use Coup, but there is no such feature to my knowledge.

Sorry if that came across as me being a jerk, i was just providing an example of what the feature would be like.

It's been suggested a hundred times before, and while i don't think it's that horrible of an idea, people generally don't want bungie.net to share the same or similar features with social networking sites/ other forums. Internet hipsters everywhere.

I think this is a good idea. I don't have anything else to add though, so this is a useless reply, but it's the only way I can show that I agree with something.

Some people seem to think these kinds of posts actually contribute to a discussion.

  • 10.11.2012 11:52 PM PDT

Does anyone even read these?

I agree with above.

Jay acts like she's better than everyone else simply because she's a chick.
I hope she chokes to death.

acnboy made a Like/Dislike script that's actually pretty cool (and compatible with most other BNet scripts, yay!), so you could just install that. It's sadly underused, though.

Huh. I guess you keep that around so you don't have to type it out Foman, I've seen you say the same thing before.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

How do we get people to stop just blank quoting if this is implemented?

We don't? I simply do not see a problem with blank quoting. It's better than a post deviod of all but "I agree with you.".

They're both completely useless replies that do nothing but impede a discussion. Both should be discouraged.
