Not at all. I've seen plenty of Mythics get banned/warned for things as simple as taking a joke too far. It's all up the the moderators discretion it something warrants punishment or not, and that's where some gray areas come in, but i doubt any of them make a judgement like that based on member title.

Black Chapter, for all religious and political debate that doesn't fit in the Flood.

If I'm honest, the longest ban I've had in years was three days. I just get warnings nowadays when people think I've overstepped the mark. Sometimes I'll get one of the ninjas telling me to cool my jets on irc or MSN if I'm going too far and almost need banning.

OP are you butt hurt you were banned? Your join date is incriminating to say the least. I have been banned multiple times while being a mythic member. Your claims are silly and offend me deeply.

Also who are you to judge what's worthy of a ban? If you feel somebody is breaking the rules report them so the ninjas can take a look at it. For an example I think you should be banned since your are avoiding a ban. Just because I believe you should be banned doesn't mean you will. Its not our job to choose who gets banned or not.

"There's a very fine line between not listening, and not caring. I'd like to think that I walk that line every day."

This may have been mentioned before, but again, the fact that members who have higher titles have been here longer and are more weathered to B.net indicates that they should know better when breaking rules, and I'm sure that that's taken into account and evokes no mercy.

You would trust more your employee that has like 20 years working with you, than the new one that only has 1 month.

Although old members have a different way of thinking, more like old stuff, however the new guy has new ideas. So if a members posts here something that catch everyone's attention, you just completed an achievement.

Rain, and Jazz.
Halo: Tactical

I'm either a fool or an inteligent man, depending on how sleepy or angry I am.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

I can tell you for a fact that they do get off the hook more than regular members. But it's the way in which they do it that counts. A new member might barge in and break it out of spike or to be rude, but they do it as a joke. The biggest difference is in how it is recieved.

It's like how people will sometimes just tell the new guy to -blam!- off, they don't know if he is serious at all and he could have made the account just to troll. If the person has been here for a very long time then they will try and look at the post in a better light.

I personaly judge people on a post by post basis and this is one of the many things that account age adds to a post. I've still seen mythic members troll and get banned though.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

I don't think so. I think higher titled members are held to a higher standard. When I see a high titled member create a 'spam' thread, it's not reall a spam thread. It's well thought out, it's funny, it's ironic, it's usually original and most importantly, has discussion value. Usually when lower titled members make spam threads they're actually for spamming. Have a vendetta against the community. Aren't orginal, are pretty annoying, the sixteenth parody thread for that day, offer no discussion value.

I've seen high titled members get let off the hook for some things. But then again, I've seen a lot of members go unnoticed for their spam and things I've been banned for before. Believe me, lower titled members get by with a lot more.

Being banned is the path to learning. I know I watch what I post much more carefully after the couple bans I've had.

I've challenged my beliefs. What is the book about?

I find that this is usually untrue. If religious people honestly, diligently and intelligently challenged their beliefs, there would be no religious people.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

The Black Chapter!

The mods all express a bias towards my member...

Here we go again.. 'oh Mythics get let off' blah blah blah. It is because we have been here for a while that the Mods can tell when we are trolling and when we are joking. After you have been here a year or two (and been active) you will get the same treatment because they can 'trust you'. If a Member has been 'good' for a few years and gets all the way to Exalted Mythic ect and then slips up one day then they must deserve a small ban/wanring instead of week ban ect (depending on what they did of course). You would feel the same way if you were in our shoes.

I got banned twice in the space of a few weeks 2 months ago. They took my Mythics and bullied me because my blue bar made them feel insignificant.
But then I got my blue bar back and everything is OK again

There are variables to understand when it comes to being banned. Whether it be from a older member to a new one, no one has any bias towards them. While a post from a regular member may seem like he got insta-banned, you have to take into account if he/she had any account history (i.e. secondary accounts) and started trouble.

It also depends on what the user posted. The member without a prefix/main title could've posted something that would've been deserving of a ban rather than just a warning. As JustAnyOtherGuy said, there are variables to understand when it comes to being banned.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Don't you see the thread to the right about how Deej will 'ban' a Mythic member?

  • 10.12.2012 6:54 AM PDT

Posted by: Keyboard_Warrior
I noticed a spam thread by a intrepid member, and he only got a warning. He should know better and should suffer the punishment like a regular member I saw that got instantly banned for a spam thread, no warning like the intrepid.

There's more to a ban than just spam. What kind of spam thread was it? Did the person who make it do it with intent to spam? What's his ban history? Besides, you can't see one instance of what you perceive as elitism, and expect this is going on everywhere, or forever ago.
