Nice idea I guess but I don't know if the Community really has anything to offer.

What would a community president/spokesperson really do?
They would be in charge of handing out Recon armour! :-)

I think a Community Council would be good for Bungie. The Wiki Council talks and reviews new features for the wikias with a selected few members, why shouldn't do the same?

That's because you're a halfwit
Nearly pissed myself laughing when I read this.

As has been already stated, we at YANW act on your behalf. We're like a Seventh column council, except we actually managed to last more than one thread.

I think we (the community) would rather have something more.. what's the word.. Official?

  • 10.12.2012 6:05 AM PDT

Why would you want something official more offical attempts at forming councils have been crashing and burning since before either of us was a member. Much better to leave it in the hands of those who know whats best for you all (i.e YANW).

Hmm. Well. I don't see any regular community members in there.. just a bunch of people from the mythic group.

YANW is already an established council that Bungie Employees like to post in.

There is no need for any new ones to be created.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Employees post on the community forum too, what is your point?

Do you actually think just because they post in a social club they are going to turn a blind eye towards rules they break or god forbid give them any authority?

In YANW the roles are reversed. Take DeeJ for example, he doesn't take a hint.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

That could be cool, until some of them turn into dictators.

Well I know I want a group titled You Are Not Welcome to represent what they assume to be my interests! How else should the community represent its interests? Should they post on the forums? Don't be silly. Forums can be abused. They lead to elitism, and they are way too similar to Facebook to do Bungie.net any good. Say no to forums, say no to your own voice, vote YANW for BCC 2012.

I don't think that we really need this. In my opinion, having the forums is good enough for feedback.

Eh, I don't think so. Most things just get shot down. Remember that huge list of things that we would like to see added? None of it has been yet, maybe in the new hawtness eventually. But just take a look at the Avatar thread in the gallery, how many avatars where posted? Loads. How many we're actually added on bungie day? About 2 - 3. If that! I know that the studio is busy but what is the community team actually doing? All I see is DeeJ posting every few days and the odd bungie employee. Sorry if I sound as though I have lost faith - I haven't but the forums are not a great place to actually discuss new features. Not very often does an employee say 'hey that's a good idea but..' or 'we might try to add that in the future sometime'. Bungie.net is very hollow, empty and dark ATM. These are just MY views.

We should have DeeJ pick a bunch of members, then have a poll to decide who the head member should be.

Agreed!

I don't think so. Bungie makes games that they want to play. Yes, they care about the community and are excellent at interacting with their community, but it is not up to us to decide what they do. They'll do what they want, and nobody here should feel like they should have a say or in turn feel hard done by if Bungie does something that they dislike.

This is not government. It's an online gaming community of fans passionate for what our Blue masters give us. We take it with open arms and either like it or don't, but in the end, none of it is up to us and it shouldn't be.

That's my opinion on it, anyway. I just think that too many people feel entitled to some sort of say in, well... everything.

Cheers

I'm sure your empire of dirt will be largely unaffected by the high council.

I'm sure that Bungie does notice our feedback in the forums. Just because some things haven't been implemented or commented on by a Bungie Employee, doesn't mean that they haven't been considered or noticed.
