line 1
Nate Hawbak__'s Favorite "hero"

A-12
E-18
N-22
R-24
S-16
T-13

Last word of line 2 is HAIKU
A-12
I-4

I think we were wrong with the letter "E", maybe. Nate is spelled 22-12-13-18 in the code, which would make E=18. However, Favorite is spelled F-12-V-5-24-8-13-10, which would make E=10. Does E=10&18 or neither? Or am I being stupid?

S=1
E=2
N=3
I=4
O=5
R=6

C=7
I=8
N=9
E=10
M=11
A=12
T=13
I=14
C=15
S=16

D=17
E=18
S=19
I=20
G=21
N=22
E=23
R=24

You're right. :)

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Is there supposed to an alphabet attached to the numbers and we just plug in the values?

There's no way Nate Hawbaker's favorite hero is Alan Stuart

Interesting mail sack.

Looking at the code.
Two of the lines don't have an apostrophe present.

I think we have to end up moving the letters around. Because they're different colors for a reason.

I'm starting to get an idea of this. If the number is red then don't change it to a different line. If it is a color other than red then move that letter to the corresponding color line.

I think it's this.
If you get a pink number (2) then you take the second letter from the pink line? Maybe

It explains why the numbers are red when an apostraphe is used.

DeeJ's Challenge

Posted by: burritoseniorAll you have to do is take Senior Cinematics Designer and assign each letter a number in order (so S=1 E=2 etc) and plug it into the red numbers in Line 2. Notice how the background color of the previous line corresponds to the letter color you plug into. Now using "Nate Hawbaker's Favorite 'Hero'" you have yellow background numbers in addition to red. Plug those into the third line (green) to get "Second Lines in Alan's Haiku" (which has been established to be "code monkey wait for slow build").

Now you have red, yellow, and green numbers. Plug those into the next line, etc., etc. Rinse, repeat. Over and over again. Have fun.

Awesome mail sack and sharing the spotlight with Jerome is great. This challenge looks intimidating at first, but I'd give it an hour with this community. "We can do it, we have the technology!"

I'm gonna finish it. Just like Jigga did to the pyramid.

Just throwing this out there.

I noticed a pattern with the colored letters & bars. I have erased the numbers which are not the same color as the color of the previous bar.

This is either helpful or a complete waste of time. Enjoy :D

No I left out "The Incredibles" in the video title. That makes sense now. I got work to do. Good Luck.

Going after what people have said about the previous phases, phase 4 is a jumble of letters that makes no sense.

Would this not be it, seeing as this was Nate's super hero?
