One does not choose a destiny, his destiny is bestowed, shaped and formed, from the soul.

I win?

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

Great riddle. If I had remembered to check Bnet sooner, maybe I could have gotten in on the action in time to win something. On the other hand, it seems that all of the answers were derived from previous Mail Sacks and Breaking In articles, which puts me at a disadvantage. For whatever reason, my computer or browser has huge amounts of trouble trying to load the article pages. I partly blame the fact that Bungie puts a whole year's worth of articles on one page, but that can't be the only reason why this happens to me since I go to other sites with a similar stupid layout and have no trouble what so ever. Maybe all of the embedded YouTube videos in the articles are causing some of the trouble?

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

These puzzles are beyond me.

Thank again for feeding my insatiable hunger for answers! Glad to see there are a few 'Mech pilots out there.

A big thank you also goes out to David Shaw for sharing the Marauder photo. It's currently the background on my phone.

So Phase 1 spelled "MATTHEW WARD'S TITLE AT BUNGIE". The answer to that is "Senior Cinematic Designer". Then you apply a number to each letter in order.
S=1
E=2
N=3
I=4
O=5
R=6
and so on. Also, since the background for Phase 1 was red, this only applied to red numbers. You would use these numbers to solve the next phase to get a clue, solve the clue, and apply to the answer to that as well. Those will give you the letters to a different color set of numbers.

My roommate actually helped me figure it out.
That helped. Thanks mate.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

Can I haz Blue Flames?

Anyways, this was certainly a good mail sack.

Another Mail Sack!

Still trying to figure out that puzzle.

Has anyone actually posted the full solution? Oh wait, each puzzle needs to be solved first...

Edit: I'm having trouble with the first line. "Senior Cinematic Designer" only has 23 letters in it, but the cypher has 24 as part of the message. Is it supposed to be a 23 (which would be r)?

Editedit: Even if I make that change, a few other letters appear to be wrong. I get `eats hawbaker'd favorite "hsro"` instead of `nate hawbaker's favorite "hero"` like the post above me says.

Editer: The post above me has some errors. Hitchens isn't right, and code monkey is the answer, not question; however, he does have an answer to the fourth phase.

Didn't know if DeeJ was allowing edits but Phase Three is "Second Line of Alan's Haiku" which was "code monkey wait for slow build."

By my reckoning, using the above post's answer for Dave's video it's this so far:
Phase ONE: Matthew Ward's Title = Senior Cinematics Designer
Phase TWO: Nate Hawbaker's favorite "hero" = NOT Christopher, but filling in from next lines gives "123velvet"
Phase THREE: second line of alan's haiku = code monkey wait for slow build
Phase FOUR: title of David Johnson's funny video = ahhh the atmosphere (thanks InSaNe DrIvE)
Phase FIVE:
Phase SIX:
Phase SEVEN:
Phase EIGHT:
Phase NINE:
Phase TEN:
Phase ELEVEN:
Phase TWELVE:
Phase THIRTEEN:
Phase FOURTEEN:
Phase FIFTEEN:

Didn't even see this until today. Has anyone won?

Yay for Jerome!

  • 10.14.2012 2:33 PM PDT

Okay, filling in from the most info I can find, I'm getting this (I'm still looking, so check back for edits as I work through it):

Phase ONE: Matthew Ward's Title = Senior Cinematics Designer
Phase TWO: Nate Hawbaker's favorite "hero" = NOT Christopher, but filling in from next lines gives "123velvet"
Phase THREE: second line of alan's haiku = code monkey wait for slow build
Phase FOUR: title of David Johnson's funny video = ahhh the atmosphere
Phase FIVE: Travis' favo1ite starship captain (meaning 1 in "123velvet" is r, "red velvet"?) = Malcolm Reynolds (one of the mail sacks, Q. by SG Tumnus123)
Phase SIX: Austin Spafford's first rule as mayor = Dont be a jerk (i'm deciphering the next line)
Phase SEVEN: John Stvan's favorite heist movie = Heat
Phase EIGHT:
Phase NINE:
Phase TEN:
Phase ELEVEN:
Phase TWELVE:
Phase THIRTEEN:
Phase FOURTEEN:
Phase FIFTEEN:

Edit: Aw crap. Thanks for helping me not waste my time, BlackHeaven.

Is it just me or would the Bungie Community give O.N.I a run for its money? Very Impressive.

Updating the high scores list.

Note that there is a correction. I saw Kivell's answer to the third question on Page 1, but that appears to be an edit, so I'm instead passing it over to AxJARxOFxDIRT. Sorry for the mix-up.

Phase ONE: Senior Cinematics Designer (SonOfTheShire)
Phase TWO: Rex Velvet (SonOfTheShire)
Phase THREE: Code monkey wait for slow build (AxJARxOFxDIRT)
Phase FOUR: Ahhh The Atmosphere (Velentar)
Phase FIVE: Malcolm Reynolds (SpecOps11) [even if he misspelled it]
Phase SIX: Don't be a jerk (SGMX)
Phase SEVEN: O Brother Where Art Thou (SGMX)
Phase EIGHT: Buffing the Banhammer (SpecOps15)
Phase NINE: Stanley Stamm Camp (SGMX)
Phase TEN: Alex Loret de Mola (SGMX)
Phase ELEVEN: Cello (SGMX)
Phase TWELVE: Ender's Game (SpecOps11)
Phase THIRTEEN: My Neighbor Totoro (SpecOps11)
Phase FOURTEEN: Gangnam Style (SpecOps11)
Phase FIFTEEN: Earthbound (SpecOps11)

Ratified.

Would the following please send to me a private message with their vital statistics (name, location, size)?
