well every game has its ups and downs. the orginal will always stand out the most because it was what started it all. every one has their own views on what made one of them the best and there will always be some one to say the same for another. it looks like every one keeps saying tha same thing for halo1 and halo2

I like both of them a lot but I'd say Halo 1 is my favorite.

Well, I just beat halo 2 last night. It was a great game. I never got to beat halo 1, had it for PC, and apparently i was not the only one having problems with it being slow and chopy here and there. But I did enjoy Halo 1 a lot. Maybe because it was the first.

Halo 2 had a fun multiplayer which changed a lot of things Halo: CE had, which made fantastic. There was skill involved, but apparently, not quite enough to keep up with the first game. Not with sweep snipes, auto-aim and all that.

Being that Halo CE was never a live enabled game, and not subject to the network conditions that Halo 2 has to deal with, I don't see how you can realistically compare the mulitplayer performance of the two. If Halo CE had been Live enabled game, they would've made the same adjustments to the autoaim in multiplayer as they did in Halo 2-to see how the game performs on the XBOXLive set-up. Even if you play H2 on LAN, it's still designed to perform well as a Live enabled game, so they designed it that the gameplay was uniform across the board. . H2 on Live probably has 10 times the amount of players on it than H1 did on LAN. The game was adjusted to work within that framework, and it seems to work better than any other XBox or 360 Live enabled game I've ever played. The dynamics of the game are more complex, and there's such a variety of playstyles that work in H2 that it makes the H1 "skill" arguement is just seem idiotic to me. Complain all you want about Halo 2's autoaim, you benefit from it too, and to try and deny that on some level of "skill" you achieved in a completely different game is simply overestimating yourself as a player. Harsh world isn't it?

I say Halo 2 but only because it's playable over xbox live. If Halo 1 was live it would be so much better than Halo 2. I've tried using xb connect but I can't get it to work :(

It's been a while since I checked this post, but it seems like I see the same thing from most of you out there. Most of you are making comments about how the single player was much better in one game over the other, but lets be honest....who bought the damn game for single player? It's obviously a multiplayer game like any first person shooter. You can sit down and beat either Halo game in a day, but is that why I purchased the game along with the 50 dollar xbox live subscription and the headset to boot? NO...I bought the game for multiplayer. And its the multiplayer that let me down in the second game. I think the single player on each game was okay at best compared to games that were made to be single player. The story really blows in both. What I think from most of you H2 lovers out there, is that you were either not that great at the original Halo, never gave the multiplayer a chance, or you never experienced a 16 player LAN party. Sure H2 has better graphics, but does that make a game better? Pearl Harbor was a movie with nice special effects, but we should all know that the movie itself sucked. Comparing H2 to H1 is like comparing Mario 2 to the original. Mario 2 had better graphics, and you play the game using different people, but the game was horrid. That's why when they made Mario 3, they made it more like the original and everyone loved it. Maybe Halo 3 will follow suite.

I prefer Halo 1 by far. Halo 2 just didn't feel as responsive as 1. The weapons, settings, and story were of a grander scale than Halo 2. Halo 1 gave me a sense of being on this marooned world full of peril. Halo 2 just didn't pull that off for me. I also get bored of Halo 2 very quickly, whereas I can play Halo 1 for hours on end.

That weblink sums everything up if you want to argue the skill between both games.

And it's your connection that's slower than turtle sex.

In........................................................Out .

This poll is the dumbest question, I mean, it wouldn't be so dumb if it was in a halo general forum, but what do you expect in a h1 forum, jeez, have some common sense.

lol

Why H1>H2

Halo2 = noobified.
Maptacular. - CRAP, thats an awesome movie!
Playhalo1.com - Also a downloadable maptacular.

And Halo1 just takes more skill.

go to thisspartanlife.com to see another great machinima. I'm a member myself.

I liked halo 1 better. when playing it seemed more like a war. they should make halo 3 more war like and add day and night so it doesn't seem like it happens all in one day.

I didn't mind Halo2. Though there were things that seemed not right. Then I went to Halo2sucks.com and found a lot of things that were pinned down and clarified. Now I'm wondering if ignorance was bliss, as now I'm more aware of what Halo2 could have been :-(

mmmm halo1 i think is not fun because the enemis in the gost only want to run over you and in halo2 you can evit that and in halo1 you can't use 2 guns.
however is mor fun and you can pley best in halo2.

Fanboi, (acronym for new player). Anyways of course you posted this in the Halo for xbox forum. Of course more people are going to say Halo.
