It appears to me that Halo 3 multiplayer may or may not be a sucess with the consumer, regardless it's potential will be capped off by the lack of connection between Xboxes. I'm talking about Lag, Hosting, and network manipulation. I greatly feel that Halo 2's competitive mind set was destroyed by Xbox hosting. Anyone who has tried hard to be competitive online knows what im talking about. I'm not saying its not possible, I'm just saying it is unnecessarily stressfull. Anyways thats a different discussion my point is why hasn't Bungie dissused getting dedicated servers to greatly improve the online gameplay if one of the most sucessful franchises in gaming history.

Does anyone else feel a need for dedicated servers for even gameplay and less potential for cheating.

Please express your views, and thanks for any comments.

Doesn't solve the problem. What they have works, and it will get better, have faith. If you want serious gaming, go to lan parties, or contests.

How do you figure, will it just improve it self ? c'mon now you cant say you like playing games that you are in yellow or red bar the whole time because of bad connection.
Having servers will also open oppurtunitys for 16 vs. 16 or more. The reason they made Halo 2 was so every one can be competitive hence the creation of XBL

Do you honestly believe that dedicated servers will solve everything? No they won't! I don't understand why people think the dedicated servers will produce lag free gameplay and eliminate cheaters. Play some StarCraft/Warcraft 3 on battle.net, or BF2 on EA's craptacular server setup, CounterStrike on the Steam network, etc. It doesn't matter if you have a dedicated server or not, chances are you're going to see lag/cheaters regardless.

The current hosting setup is A ok in my book. I don't experience much lag at all. A majority of the time it is the users connection.

He NEVER said it would get rid of all cheaters or stop all lag. All he said it would even the playing field by giving everyone the same lag and not giving one person host!

Do you honestly believe that dedicated servers will solve everything?
No but it will improve on the current situation, and stop being a flaming moron who only adds negitivity in the fourm.
