Star Wars doesn't have a god-race to combat the Forerunners and Precursors. Halo wins.

Throw out god-races, and Star Wars wins easily.

/thread

This is the only true thing in the entire thread.

-facepalm-

Except they do have a god race. Celestials. And Killiks. -blam!-, if the Celestials were in both their states, with one group having a body, and the other being one with the force, Star Wars would murder the halo verse in a manner of months.

Yes... but some zingus said that the Yuuzhan Vong were automatically fail because they had lower tech.

Interestingly no one deigned to enlighten him that just because their technology is biologically-based doesn't mean they aren't advanced and can't fulfill or exceed standard tech-based analogues

I dunno. I think it was the zombie virus that the Empire made. Also forgot that the Empire has several biological weapons which can destroy all life on a planet within a few hours. It targets anything that is likely made of carbon- seeing that it killed everything on a planet, including aliens.

As for infantry, I think it's safe to say that the Republic Commandos have as strong or stronger shields than Spartans, seeing that although they take a few hits in the canon, the strength of the weapons in Star Wars makes halo tech pathetic. Bullets would due jack -blam!- against Stormtrooper armor, and it's made to protect you from the environment, not projectiles. It's only rated to protect you completely from slug-throwers.

Has anyone even mentioned the Yuuzhan Vong yet? Or the living planet? (Haven't read all the posts)

Both, they called them pushovers.

Although I personally think that the Vong, like the Orcs in Warhammer, may have spread throughout all other Galaxies. I mean really, there's nothing besides the Star Wars guys capable of standing up to them.

And no, the only reason that the Vong weren't rolfstomp was because of their numbers, surprise attack, and immunity to the force. Remove those and they'd have been roundhouse kicked out of the galaxy.

The point of war is not to die for one's clan, but it's to make the other bastard die for his
Right before you die, there is always a chance to save yourself, sieze that chance and live to fight another day
The best way to kill someone is to fight them with the same weapons they use and make them know you are better than them, not because of superior weaponry, but because of superior skill.

Pushovers? Really? The Vong could probably destroy the UNSC and the Covenant by itself...

No, I meant that like the Orks in warhammer, the Vong are everywhere in the Star Wars universe, save the star wars galaxy.

Although, we don't know what's outside the Star Wars Galaxy, it'd be nice if they expanded. Would be a nice, new change, rather than the rehash of a plucky group of young heroes fighting an evil dude, his evil army, and his evil... weapon.

Wait. Remove superweapon and replace it with a monster.

Star Wars is a generic D&D campaign.

Oh. Orks are everywhere in the 40K universe? I thought they were just a race native to and infesting the local galaxy because they were created for the same purposes and around the same time as the Eldar by the Old Ones

No, it's believed that they were created by the Old Ones as the protectors of the galaxy against the Necrons, and have since spread throughout the universe, and only the W40K galaxy is left standing.

Oh dang, then I really need to reed up on my lore, because I thought the Necrons (though not the C'tan) were also local to our galaxy...lol

Nah, the Necrons are in the Milky Way. The Orks however have just naturally spread about, because they're part fungi, and they spread like the plague.

Besides, all and Ork Warlord needs to do is build up WAAAGH! energy, then declare a stick his 'C'tan Beat Stick', and he owns the most powerful weapon, ever.

Yeah, the whole fungi part was always an interesting concept. I guess they're like Lichen in that they're fungi and algae.

Of course, the affairs of these races don't really concern me because I've already pledged my services to the Dark Powers. As long as the humans are around to suffer for another couple millenia or so, I couldn't care less.

Necrons. While the Tau are nice because of the liberties, with Necrons comes immortality. Same with Chaos, but becoming a Daemon Prince is hard as balls.

Everyones argument is now invalid

If you bothered to pay any -blam!- attention, you'd realize that Halo would be entirely roflstomped because Star Wars has immortal gods, and undead invincible sith. A single Sith Lord could wipe out an entire fleet with a gesture.

  • 10.15.2012 6:01 PM PDT

Who said that the Flood can't affect Force users?

Let's be fair here, the Covenant are just as about as advanced as most of the Star Wars Civilizations, aside from the Force thing.

Now, the Covenant are constantly being overrun by the Flood. The Flood are like Necromorphs and an intelligent rival civilization in one. Who is to say that the Star Wars races will fare any better? The only way to stop them is by activate=ing the Halo rings, which would result in a stalemate, not a victory.

Also the "Battle Droids" argument is completly invalid. They don't work if the control ship is overrun by a joint Spantan/Flood/Scarab team.

Only B1 Battle droids rely on control ships, the rest are individually programmed.

So my friend told me Star Wars can beat Halo and i said no. Then an discussion broke out which could win, then other people got involved. We need to resolve this as I know tthis will not end.

Halo has:
-Master Chief
-Cortana
-Forunners
-UNSC
-Covenant
-Halo Rings

Star Wars:
-Jedi/Sith
-Death Star
-Star Killer
-Darth Vader
-Starcrusher
-Stormtroopers(Regular enlisted men)
-Droids
-All the aliens and weapons from every inhabited world

Halo
Master chief -yet to be killed or stopped
Cortana- smartest and most advanced ai ever, droids pale in comparison, especially if you read the books.
Forruners- have planet destroying ships, multiple if i remember correctly. defeated by the flood.
Unsc- nearly defeated by covenant aren't really that strong after the war. no spectacular weapons.
Covenant- Plasma weapons, huge ships that are very powerful, Glassing beams. One ccs could take on multiple unsc ships. Large numbers.
Halo rings- works against both sides, not very helpful unless facing the flood-

Star Wars(movies)
Jedi/sith - very few in number, jedi were nearly all killed by Clones. sith are pretty much gone.
Death star - Planet killer, destroyed by Luke in a single star fighter.
star killer- Very powerful sith tuned jedi. Nearly kills Sidious and Vader but still dies.
Darth Vader - also Rather strong and powerful, killed by Sidious' lightning.
Storm troopers - Rather weak, not very smart, beaten by ewoks on endor. not the premier soldier.
droids - somewhat good, we're beating clone army near the end of the war, But were pretty mediocre.

And as you said all other aliens and weapons, I would assume you mean throughout the series., so I'm gonna say the same for Halo. If every tech ever mentioned in halo And star wars was used, I would bet my money on Halo. just my opinion.

Sidious (If this is who you are talking about) actually came back to life through cloned bodies of himself.

And for -blam!-'s sake, THE JEDI CAN'T GET INFECTED.

Why not? They're organic and therefore vulnerable to infection. Flood spores would -blam!- them up since they wear little protective gear such as breathing apparatus. Stormtroopers would stand a better chance than unprotected jedis on a flood infected planet..

Posted by: Wyzilla
It's also possible that a powerful sith could even drive the gravemind insane with a simple look.

You clearly know nothing about the gravemind. It is nigh on omniscient and has driven people to suicide simply by speaking to them. God forbid if it ever learns the ways of the force.

Also hard light shields would easily deflect lasers like lightsabres do and bearing in mind your average spartan 4 can have one in halo 4...

Lookup Darth Nihilus dammit. He killed an entire planet with his voice and never died, his soul was locked in his armor. And the process that created him could be repeated, -blam!-, I could imagine the Empire actually doing it, killing an entire planet save one individual, just to create another wound in the force, which are like humanoid black holes, who can ONLY be destroyed if attacked by another wound in the force, or void. Nihilus, if raised, could not be destroyed by the Halo Arrays or any weapon, and would simply travel about both universes, destroying Star Wars AND Halo, unless the Celestials (ancient race that became once with the force and now influence all events, likely.) decided to intervene.

No they wouldn't. It would at least be a tie, since nothing Star Wars has can damage Precursor technology, and as far as anyone knows, Halo doesn't have anything either to likwise damage One-With-The-Force Celestials, except for neural negation weapons which destroy the concept of consciousness(but a big maybe).
