I don't think carpet bans should ever be the default bans for situations like this. Just stay out of The Flood if you don't want to be spoiled. Better yet, you can just go dark in general. It's the safest option to stay spoiler free.

what is keeping them only to the flood? nothing is. nothing is being spoiled for me, just for other people that really arent wanting to know.

Nothing is keeping them from leaving The Flood. I just used the example you used in the OP. Nonetheless, The Flood is still the hot spot for spoilers for games this close to launch. Going dark is the best way for anyone to stay spoiler free.

Inappropriate. Went a little to far with the butt hole tearing.

How about don't overreact because someone was "clever" enough to make alts and spam like a douche?

No carpet bans. Carpet bans are bad.

How about locking threads and banning people who are posting leaks?

I concur. A carpet ban or two would do some justice and perhaps send out a message.

The culprits have been banned!

This mess is being cleaned up as we speak.

I would be banned if there's a flood-wide ban, too, but i don't care. We need damage control NOW.

If you post in a rule breaking thread you're keeping it on top of the forum for everyone to see.

There's no reason that thread should have been preserved that long. It just stayed up longer to spoil it for more people.

Such a shame posters don't understand this.

absolutely not. carpet bans are -blam!- stupid

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

Some bastards already spoiled H4 for me. But I stayed away from posting in those damn threads. These idiots who were bumping the thread should have realised that they were enhancing the progression of the thread.

that is it mods, i am calling you guys out. I don't care what happens. You have done a -blam!- horrible job at damage control. Locking the thread and banning the user is not enough when the spoiler is the the title. You guys need to step the -blam!- up. I am disappointed in your lack of control.

there is nothing you can do about the user names, but you can sure as hell change the title of the thread

You bump a thread to the top of the forum, you keep it open for people who click on that forum.

2 wrongs don't make a right. Worst case scenario, one person warns everybody that the thread contains a lea. Nobody else needs to post after that.

Key

I think that making a thread in response to spam attacks should warrant a ban. Because nobody's going to go, "Oh, wait... don't reply? Y'know... that's a pretty novel idea. I'm going to go ahead and... what'd you say... not reply? Is that what it's called? I'll try that out."
