i think the ark may be a slipstream engine it would surprise the fans and it would explain why the forerunners have never been seen.

do you mean like, putting the entire earth into slipspace while the halos are Working?

that's actually a very interesting idea if you meant that

Already been said before. By the looks of it, no-one is going to be suprised by the amount of guesses people have thought of to tell us what the structure does.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Interesting idea, it might tie into the game nicley... if its actually what it is.
it's been talked about before, but not the forerunners never being seen because they're in slipspace. interesting, very interesting....

I don't think Im gonna try to predict anything else, Bungie is gonna do a fine job. : )

do you have any sources or is it a random guess? (this isn't a flame. just asking)
Also, i think the ark controls the halos. At the end of Halo 3, 343 Guilty Sparks tells the chief and Commander Keyes that all the halos could be controlled from "here." Here refers to the Ark.

Possible. But I doubt it for some reason.
Check out my theory on what the ark could be.

i want to leave this open for discussion.
i mean the slipspace engines that the covenant have are better then ours imagine what the forerunner ones could do and what technology is inside the ark

Maybe the forerunner have been seen. Just not by humans or Covenant.

You know what's funny? When halo 3 comes out, and we play it through, and see the tru7h, everyone will bang their heads agains the wall and say "oh...duh." I'm certain it will be something we overlooked.

it would also click in with the halos being the great journey and meeting thier "gods" (the forerunners)

perhaps, but I doubt the covenant religion has any real application, other than killing everything. I could be wrong.

well it is safe to assume that the artifacts point the Covies to their next position, so maybe an artifact gave them that information, maybe with the H1 quote "Whoever controls Halo controls the fate of the Galaxy"

I know, far-fetched...

true but a slipspace engine inside a planet doesnt seem like the worst idea iv heard they had to get the halos out there sumhow and they would need a big engine to do that or the halos have one aswell (i know the halo slipspace engine is pushing it)

The Ark is a Remote Detonator for the Rings, 343 GS said this at the end of Halo 2.
