I wan't the 1st mission to be a flashback of Operation: Trebuchete, and then the MC wakes up back on the ship.

Maybe its the Ark?

On the LE of Halo 2 disc. They show a level design called the Ark_09.... The level that BUNGIE didn't have time to do?.....or maybe it was a cinematic..

Warning: Super Soldier Now Serving Your Mom.

Awesome. I would play that level over and over again.

I had an idea similar to this. But instead of the ship just crashing, you pilot into the other Covenant ships and destroy as many of them as you can.

I don't see Tarturus coming back. His badass days are over, and if you have the Arbiter, whats his use. There seem to be a few to many saviors in the kitchen, if you get my drift. Especially for a franchise claiming the MC as the last hope.

MC is the last hope for humankind. I dont see a problem with the Arbiter leading the way for the Elites. Now if the other SPARTANS returned it might get alittle crowded, and probally take away the MC importance.

ok heres my idea.

Like Halo 2 at the beginning have 2 cinematics (1 of MC and 1 of Arbiter/Johnson/Keyes) and show chief kinda examine the ship that truth is on. With the Arbiters show them outside the Control room calling for a Pelican/Phantom to take them to a capital ship. Then Arbiter is rushing towards Earth and MC is searching the ship. Then like someone else said have chief find to many brutes and blow up the ship (but Truth doesnt die and heads to earth and the Humans/Covenant following Arbiter dont know) and as MC is falling (similar to Halo 2) he lands on the ship with Arbiter, Johnson and Keyes and gets in and they fly to earths surface where they encounter Covenant loyal to Truth and have to fight there way through citys and stop the activation of the Ark.

I hope the opening scene in halo 3 will be the arbiter sacrificing him self in some spiritual ritual

Personally I think that the entire ending/beginning of Halo2/Halo3 will be a cutscene. I'm not sure that made sense but let me make this simple. Chief goes in ship, ship takes off, CUTSCENECUTSCENECUTSCENE Chief escapes on some captured human ship and crash lands on Earth.

I think it would be a cool twist to allow you to play as Johnson. It would force you to use cover, and stay back since you have no shield. That would be interesting. You wouldn't be able to face a lot of guys though since you have no shield, but I think it would be good for a level or two.

Somehow I figure that Johnson won't be in the first few levels nevermind a cutscene! Last time we saw 'im in Halo 2 was... If I'm correct a cutscene during Chief's temple mission. I forgot its name but... -shrugs-

Edit: Of course by now he could be in that space fight that you could see happening during the ending Halo 2 cutscene.

that which is not dead can eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death may die.

also, all the first levels have a "tutorial" so, I think it will be the arbiter getting new armor, and you testing it out, in the arbiters personaly Big ass ship.

My idea is,

like in halo 2 at the beginning where it showes two cutscenes of MC and the Arbiter. I think it should have the same idea, like it will show, miranda,,johnson, the arbiter, and the oracle leaving the control room, meanwhile,MC is shown on the Truths ship.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

I wouldn't mind a scene starting on the PoA back at Reach before the events of Halo CE when Chief gets seperated from his Spartans..

So they would be introduced and no one would be too confused later on..

Also, it would stick with the games' ways of starting us off in a human ship, testing our shields etc..he could test them right before tha fateful mission.

I picture Arbiter, Johnson, and Miranda getting ambushed by the ONI after the three work out their differences. Spec-Ops Leader did manage to retake the cruiser over the control center, and picks up the three including 343 Guilty Spark in a Phantom(under fire from the ONI?). From the cruiser's hangar bay-Hunters are gathering the dead Brutes in one pile and dead allies in another. Grunts stand guard as Elites herd away surrendered Brutes to the brig at gunpoint. Arbiter, Johnson, and Miranda departs from Halo to find the MC. If desired, perhaps we can have Arbiter upgrade to improve armor by technicians. I'm picuturing Arbiter held in place on a slab, then suddenly a Grunt peers over, squints his head a bit in curiosity, and tell him about the armor upgrade.

Passing the derelict High Charity, perhaps they will launch a party to scout and investigate, meeting up with a nasty surprise(hundreds of Infection Flood forms pouring out of a door at them-spawned by the Gravemind, forcing them to make haste retreat) which will make urgency the more crucial.

Upon arriving at Earth at a later time, 343GS hovers alone silently staring out through a viewport at Earth under siege. It's the most quiet he's ever been, knowing how chatty he's been ever since we knew him. When Arbiter or Miranda or whomever approaches him to ask him questions, 343GS exclaims he is glad to see Earth once more, yet outright appalled at the Covenant's desecration of Earth.

As for the MC, I would expect the beginning level to take place within the Forerunner Ship. Personally, I don't think Truth is heavily guarded, or at all. And I don't think the Forerunner ship crashes either because I feel the ship has something important to do with the storyline. It could be the Ark, for this I have reasons to believe:

1.It's engines are designed to last forever, even with the Covenant tapping huge amounts of energy out of it to function High Charity. So therefore, it must be important(despite the possibility that the Forerunner could possibly make all their ships' engines last forever).

2.At the end of Halo 2, when Arbiter asks where the Ark is, the next scene cuts directly to the Forerunner Ship. It implies The Ark has arrived to Earth. It didn't show Earth, or some structure on Earth, or some other location.

3.The Forerunner Ship is an Ark. It's a huge ship. And designed to evacuate the Forerunner city of High Charity should the Flood invade. At the end of Halo 2, the Flood did invade. And Truth and MC was safe when they took off in the Forerunner Ship. It also subtly implies its purpose, which was demonstrated.

So MC explores the Forerunner ship, which I'm betting has a huge amount of significant detail and relics still aboard it-possibly even a functioning Forerunner AI(the shipmaster) or perhaps even a Forerunner(cryo-freeze maybe?). Well, if MC comes upon this Forerunner AI, maybe that'll be his new assistant now that Cortana's gone. Why I believe there is intelligience still aboard the ship: The Forerunner Ship must be ready to launch on immediate demand in the event of a emergency. An AI can spend its whole life inside the ship, doesn't eventually die like a organic being, and can respond immediately. Cortana detects a foreign AI presence aboard the ship. Now, that's assuming Truth hasn't reached the ship yet, didn't upload a Covenant AI, or didn't have a Covenant AI placed there beforehand. A Forerunner AI is likely, since there probably isn't much difference if any between a Covenant and Forerunner AI. The Forerunner AI would also adhere to its protocols, that is to prep the ship for launch. Cortana's trying to delay the launch, and the Forerunner AI must be trying to negate this. Forerunner AIs are extremely resilient. Just look at 343GS...

You'll play as the Arbiter on the first level/mission. Why? Well, b/c in every Halo game you go through a type of Training mission that has you look up, down, left, ect. I have a hard time seeing that you'll do this as the MC b/c he is on a hostile ship. Thus the Arbiter will be on a friendly ship.

I could be wrong though if Bungie has a really long Intro/cutscene that shows the MC getting off that ship, & the Arbiter leaving Delta Halo. The roles would still be same though just b/c the Arbiter would still be in less danger than MC when Halo 3 begins. (Meaning the Arbiter would be a better canidate for the 1st level/training level.)-Peace

Newsflash:

We left off with the MC in H2: We will start with him in Halo 3

What you guys are all saying is far too cliche (sorry if i spelled it wrong) somthing bungie wont do.

In any case I feel that the first level will involve the Forerunner ship crashing onto the moon, thus ( wow i used an almost extinct word) knocking him out. While unconcious (spelled it wrong) he will have a flashback of the War and his life; Remembering His childhood*, the 76 other spartans*, Dr. Halsey*, then the briefing about harvest*, and then to later events such as trying on MJOLINR and Meeting cortana and keyes. Eventually to REACH's destruction and the flight to halo, then the flood and returning home.

Of course thats if the books coincide with the games.

Which is 95% possible.

Ok level one of Halo 3

The MC has landed on the Moon and he is still in the forerunner ship, truth begins a broadcast throughout the ship and the MC begins to look for him. Then he notices that he's surrounded by brutes. All in all the MC is captured and brought to truth to face "justice" when he's in front of truth he uses his training and manages to get the brutes off him and manages to find a weapon. thus starting the level.

Im starting to sound like a nerd O NOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to the seemingly false Halo 3 script that was making the rounds last year, the first mission was titled Absolution.

Now thats very unlikely to be the true name, but I still think its a cool name for the Forerunner ship.

I want Halo 3 to be like what they showed at E3 way back when they first showed the gameplay for Halo 2. I want it to have a darker style with most of the levels set on Earth. I want marines everywhere, treating wounds, driving around in warthogs, screaming for their lives, generally acting more like humans. I mean wouldn't you be if a massive religeous alien army hell-bent on Humanity's destruction invaded Earth with superior technology? Does anyone think Bungie should,ve included those massive Covenant cannon things? Remember when the Longsword Bombers destroyed it as it was firing at the building? I want Halo 3 to never have quiet moments, I want explosions everywhere, marines driving over grunts while a Brute or Elite jumps on the back of the warthog and throws them out. I never want a moment when I'm just walking on my own to the next objective with quietness everywhere.

Rant over.
