Ok...I just thought of this so if itz already been posted then sorry for reposting it cuz heaven knows some of theez pu$$ies will get annoyed or offened if I dont apologized so....to the point.

Ok at the end of all the credits in Halo2 cortana and Gravemind have an encounter...if u dont remeber excatly what they said here it is:
Gravemind: "Silence fills the empty grave, now that I am gone."

{cut to Council Chamber, Gravemind's tentacles reach across}
Gravemind: "But my mind is not at rest, for questions linger on. I will ask and you will answer."
{Cortana's hologram appears, she holds up her hand, the tentacles stop and move off}
Cortana: "Alright, shoot."

Now what questions does gravemind have if he is supposibly lived a long time and and has seen the past and future. Now cortanas last words were "Alright,shot" as if she did mind answereing his questions. You would think that she would not say anything of whate ever knowledge she posseses unless itz humans right? But she agrees..which leads me to believe that gravemind and cortana are trying to help master chief. In the Halo3 trailer she says all that stuff about defiying gods and demons. Proabably suggesting his long life or his origins..then she says that I am ur shield I am your sword. Perhaps suggesting that because cortana and master chief are far away....she trying to tell master chief something of importance. Like what if gravemind had some questions for cortana and vise versa and both of them learned the truth about something..something on a larger scale than the great journey and the activation of the rings...something ..well (u get the idea) gravemind is desprately trying to aid MC for reasons that are unknown..probably cuz gravemind might have not known that the rings are a weapon and he is using cortana (being that she is an AI) to contact MC to help stop the activation

My assumstion would be friends. Because if you listen to the trailer, when Cortana say "I have defied Gods and Demons" you can hear Gravemind speaking in stereo with her. however, as he speaks slowly, you can differentiate between the two voices. So, I would be lead to assume that their friends.
and i use 'he/his' for Gravemind lightly. as we have no idea if Flood (which we all assume him to be) even have genders.

Don't trust Gravemind. Or Cortana, for that matter.

Yeah. I don't think we have reason to trust either. The only time "rampancy" is ever mentioned in the world of Halo is if you kill Capt. Keyes CE and Cortana calls security to the bridge, as she says the MC has gone Rampant. Rampacy for those that don't know, is where a AI essentially has soo much information and time that goes crazy or "rampant" and "thinks" itself to death... Has Cortana gone rampant...we don't know for sure, but I would not trust her one way or another, as she has said in the game that she has gone through Halo's network and has encountered mass amounts of information...could this cause her to go rampant...? I doubt a rampant AI in the hands of the Gravemind is a very good thing.

We don't know much about the Gravemind either, who is the being? How does it have the powers it possesses, such as apperant omnipresence, and the ability to teleport...? Is he "evil" maybe not, but what is his purpose for leading the MC and Arbitor to the Icon?

I wouldnt trust either. Does not make them bad, or evil, but the circumstances do not warrant trust that is for sure.

They are probably friends, but I wouldn't trust neither of them and have the Elites help MC.

No, about 2-3 years max since she's been used by Captian Keyes in Halo 1 and by Master Chief in Halo 1 and 2 for very little time.
