Who's got AIDS?

Obviously there has been a lot of negativity toward this game. I've been wondering: Is there anything about this game that you actually liked? It can be anything ranging from small details to something major.

For example I liked the active roster. I like being able to see what my friends are doing. Also, I liked the forge editor. Yea, it was mostly gray but it let inexperienced people make maps.

Nothing, to be honest. I don't hate it, I just can't think of anything I like.

I'm new to competitive Halo and Halo itself (Reach being my first video game ever actually). Message me if you want to play;

-Custom Games options
-supply cases (less heavier and more easier to arrange)
-playing as an Elite in MP and Firefight

Dislikes:

-art style
-always HD rendering of screenshots
-Forge mode controls feel awkward, placing an object moves you back
-Brutes
-Zealot and Spec Ops retcon
-getting out of a vehicle the way you're looking
-accessing and renaming files is inconvenient
-saving files takes forever
-lack of switch lobby, completing the campaign removes 'resume game' option
-Revenant, Wraith, Banshee
-Monitor HUDs on my copy are stuck with an Elite/Spartan HUD unless I'm killed while in Monitor mode
-pistol has way too much Bloom, most guns suck, plasma pistol has spread, plasma pistol is hacked when used by Covies
-the campaign, especially LNoS (mission start and rally point alpha have zero replay value)
-Spartan model (hideously bulky, slow, pathetic strafe, unresponsive, dat ass)

One thing would be graphics, I guess another would be the gameplay as it affects me.

EGO mos bulla astrum.

AR sounding awesome.
Campaign missions that reminded me of Halo CE.
Theater being good.
Massive amounts of custom content that was save able.
Forge World.
Forge World matchmaking maps.
Big Team Battle Heavies.
Armor Abilities.
The new Forge.
The new Firefight.
A matchmaking array that was actually fun. (screw you Halo 3 crappy matchmaking and crappy maps)
Customs while rare were incredibly fun and original instead of endless Fat Man creations.
New Infection mode felt balanced with Evade.
Invasion.
Elites being powerful.
Plasma Pistol's look and feel.
Magnum's look and feel.
So many remakes to bring memories back.
Blood Gulch.


The only thing I really hate are the sub-human apes that hate on the game. :)

Easter Egg Hunter. Apprentice Tricker/Glitcher (learning from Grumpy and Sliding Ghost).

Trying to get Waypoint to update Halo 3 stats in detail like here. Now no one can see that my Halo 3 Spartan no longer looks like my Reach Spartan.

Really want to be a Heroic member or have a title. :/

-Storyline (nice being able to take a break from chief and see the fall of Reach first hand)
-Armor customization (I think it's improved)
-Concussion rifle (wish it was a little stronger)
Dislike:
-Zealot, Spec Ops armor: Red? What the -blam!-. You can not give such high ranks red.
-Officer Elite: Should have kept it called Major or at least colored it red like in the past games (or both). Makes the elite ranking system weird.
-Kat's driving skills (Lets not even go there)
-Ai smartness: The UNSC allies are pretty dumb. They fire heavy weapons at point blank range. Sometimes even accidentally shooting right on the back of another's head. They are also not wise when shooting. For example, I was playing Co-op with my brother and I wanted to take the rocket hog into the mining facility on TotS. But before my brother could get on, a marine got on. He tried to shoot 3 jackals through a fence-gate and blew up the hog, killed himself, me, my brother, the passenger, three other marines, and launched Kat into the air. On top of that, only one jackal was killed.
-ODST: Same Ai as the marines. there are not much difference accept an ODST's ability to use some armor abilities. They constantly charge right into enemy fire and if they aren't making idiotic jetpack jumps instead of walking, they are falling short of their destination and falling to their death.

Nah, that's just when I'm moody. I've made several positive comments about Reach on Halo Reddit and Waypoint, such as how playing on Heroic doesn't increase the enemy projectile speed too much.

But I am appalled at how you could embrace Skirmishers.

I'd appreciate Elite Generals if they were more integrated into canon. I didn't like them since they appear in waves at the end of Lone Wolf but during the cutscene, they're all absent. It'd have made more sense to throw in Zealots since there was previously a Field Marshal leading 5 Zealots. It'd have made sense that there would be a lot more of them. Furthermore, Firefight already has Generals and Zealots are noticeably absent from Firefight. Putting in waves of Zealots into the campaign would have scratched that itch. In the penultimate moment, Lone Wolf turns into Dino Blasters.

The Falcon was nice but the Revenant was just inferior (lacks traction, weak gun). And buggy (getting launched out of the map).

ODST sufficiently scratched that itch for me.

I don't mind the concussion rifle (I rejoice when I get to fight an Elite wielding it rather than the plasma rifle and I love dodging multiple concussion rifle wielders firing at the same time on Heroic or Legendary) and I'm welcoming it's *fixed* version in Halo 4. I just don't like how all the dropships used it and will be using it in Halo 4. Couldn't there have been variety? The trilogy dropships had unique guns.

-the friendly AI, one of the most lovable things about Halo campaign, was deliberately sabotaged for the sake of difficulty, even on Easy. And their horrible pathfinding. That's just wrong...
