1) Grammar, spelling, punctuation

2) The books and the games are seperate things that run along the same storyline. And i am still lost as to what your so surprised about. How can having more spartans in the books ruin the books?

try sentences, it works.

and also, the books are derived from the same Halo Bible that the games are, but the lack of spartans in halo 2 has not yet been explained.

3 of them are on mission too far off to be recalled easily

Kelly is out in space somewhere

And Fred and Linda and i think 1 or 2 other spartans are probably either fighting on earth, or out on other planets fighting.

The Books and games are seperate entities, as bungie has said, and as i have repeated countless times in this forum. THE BOOKS AND GAMES HAVE SEPERATE STORYLINES! Sure, there are many similarities, but Bungie siad they hve no intention of making the games like the books.

Some people think the other spartans were stationed on the Malta and Athens MAC stations and when the stations were destroyed so were tthe other spartans.

Some people think that in the last leg toward Earth on the Gettysburg they somehow died.

Other people think (myself included) that the other spartans were on Earth to test the MJOLNIR Mk VI just before the chief recived it and never left earth, staying to defend Mombasa it's just that they were in different parts of the city during the short time the MC was there. If you want prof that the MK VI was tested by a spartan on earth see the HGC article in the august edition in OXM it clearly mentions that the spartan testing the Mk VI armor isn't the MC

No offense. Have you read any of the books? Halo: The Flood follows the Halo CE storyline almost identically. Everything in Halo video games are covered in the halo books. To say they are different stories is utterly wrong. The books just fill in the gaps in the Halo story. Fall of Reach told us the story before Halo CE, The flood is basically Halo CE, and First strike fills us in before Halo 2.

Think of it this way. Bungie creates the story through the game. Than the author creates a story that takes place before or after the story in the bungie game. The author makes the story fit according to the Halo universe. There have been no major contradictions between the books and the Halo story. And If you check any Halo fansite, especially the HBO site, they use the Halo books heavily as a source for the Halo story. Most of what we know about SPARTANS, Their Armor, and Forerunner come from the books. If we didnt read the books we would be clueless on any of those topics.

I HAVE ALL THE BOOKS. Im just saying that the book was written after the game, so techically the book follows the story of the game. The games will not go the other way around and follow the books.

And the HBO members arent bugnie staff, so it really doesnt matter what they use.

Of course the books follow the game. No one is saying it doesnt. Most of us are just saying in order to know more about the Halo storyline you have to read the books.

I know bungie is not HBO, but you cant be clueless to the fact the books give a ton of information the video games dont cover. Examples of this include: SPARTANS, Human technology, MJONIR, Forerunners. Not to mention, we would be totally clueless on who/what the MasterCheif is.

The books and games are the same story. But try reading the books, and then imagine them putting most of that into the game. Try the part on Silent Cartographer, where the little Grunt shoots the Hunter and kills him. How would they do that in a game? A cutscene? The games don't have as much of the story as the books because of how bad implementing it would be. Most of that would have to be really scripted, making the game a lot less fun.

This is what I think happened to the other Spartans. They could be there the whole time in the book, but having another Spartan, or a few, in the game would make it less fun. Pretty much, they would kill a lot of the people for you, and it would just be another dumb teammate that would be even better at "accidentally" killing you.

Im sorry, for the misunderstanding. I was just trying to get the point across that bungie wont make the game like the books. There are some things that are similar, but alot of people havent read the books. Wouldnt it be wierd if all teh sudden more spartans just showed up?
