..I don't see why they wouldn't give it to us first.

It's like if you told a kid that in 1 hour you would give them a lollipop, but after that 1 hour, you gave out lollipops to a bunch of grownups around the kid, who told the kid how awesome the lollipop was, until finally giving the kid the lollipop.

2/15/12: Francisco Porras, I'll miss you. Rest in Peace.

Well technically we will, if they post about it on Bungie.net, because only the people who actually still come here will see it, until someone tells a gaming site about the news.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Aren't we already the first to have received the first information through some of the puzzles?

So in a sense, yes, I hope that the first real information--like a teaser or announcement--should be revealed only to those who are able to find it; which inevitably would be the community.Posted by: HALO3syourdaddy
Pretty biased crowd to ask =P
We are a greedy bunch, some of us anyway, like me... I'd actually get really upset if I were to find out about Destiny's announcement through a gaming site. But that's just egocentric me. :P

Maw

I amagine the news will brake publicly. Maybe there will be something here at the same time. Either way we'll still be here. I think Bungie needs to keep recruiting awesome people into the community. If that means we have to wait just a little longer, that's fine with me.

We've been waiting in the queue the longest so it seems only fair.

Also Deej have stated that the first ones to know about any Destiny info, would be us.

  • 10.16.2012 9:29 PM PDT

I voted no, because I don't particularly care where the info lands first (nor should you). It'll be everywhere within a couple hours, and I'll most likely hear about it from another source first anyway.

Of course we would all vote yes....saying no would be weird, because we all want to know things sooner than others, and as much as we can get too.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I thought it was already confirmed that we're getting the information first.

Hmmm. That'd sure make this here banhammer pretty interesting.

Most biased poll ever. (Of course I voted yes.)

Pretty much this. Why should people who have never heard of the project get to know details about it before the people who have been waiting for almost two years (I think it's two years since we've known about it)?

mah twitter

No, how would that benefit Bungie as a company? I would like that of course but I'm only thinking Bungie's best here.

Yeah, I think we've earned it.

Indeed. We've been dedicated enough to stick around in this darkness phase, so we should be the first to receive the details on Destiny.

I'd be nice, but I'm pretty sure the information will be given to major gaming sites/ magazines.
See, that'd be a dick move, IMHO. Considering we've been whinny-ing and stomping at the starting gate for the race that is the Destiny Era, I don't see why they wouldn't give it to us first.

It's like if you told a kid that in 1 hour you would give them a lollipop, but after that 1 hour, you gave out lollipops to a bunch of grownups around the kid, who told the kid how awesome the lollipop was, until finally giving the kid the lollipop.
I'm sorry, but when did Bungie tell us that we were getting the info first or in any defined time frame (that is, the "1 hour" part of your lollipop analogy)?

RIP Logan ~B.B.

Hopefully that is part of the reason DeeJ was hired. I remember it being a big thing years ago when all non-embargoed Halo news was being broken on NeoGaf, and that rubbed some of bungie.net's long time members the wrong way. If I remember correctly, that was mostly Frankie and Shishka breaking news elsewhere, and urk was just starting part time.

I do hope that this time around, Bungie does inform their home site as well. I understand that media will still be subject to exclusive info they can't give out elsewhere, but it would be nice if new information being posted on other community sites was posted here as well, without it trickling over through the grapevine.

2009, and I still have the thread saved. I almost linked it but it didn't seem appropriate.

Also, they should do countdowns to any breaking news. That was a big hit.
