Sorry for not posting this in one of the "Idea" threads, but there's a number of them and I feel like this will be easier to keep track of personally. Anyways:

My single, simple suggestion, is actually twofold and maybe slightly complex. One: Take off team colors, or make them toggleable. A players armor coloring is hardly used at all, it seems.

Two: When you enter a vehicle in multiplayer, have your colors overlayed onto it. This should also help express a player's individuality.

And for the love of god, put an instant-banhammer on anyone shouting about "idiots using Elite models". I swear to god, I've played as both models long enough to know that I die as much with either one.

Ive been thinking about this too. In Juggernaut, the players all have their own colors even when on the same team. Why not just let them be their own colors and have the team indicators over their heads?

then, you obviously haven't played as both models enough, if it weren't from my trigger-happiness from CoD2, I would not live as much as an Elite. Elites die faster, and there is no way to disprove it.

The banhammer was just sarcasm :P. I figured using that word instead of something official sounding would bring that across more... Anyways. I just feel like there's no point to setting up armor color and stuff if no one ever sees it (rumble pit aside). And you should be able to identify teammates easily enough by the sizy icon over their head. And if you had your colors over the vehicle- the drivers colors- then you would be able to tell who was driving it more easily among friends or familiar teammates.

The team colors dont need changing. But maybe the team color being overlayed onto the vehicle might work. Of course, i still like this quote of mine:

WHY DO WE NEED TO MAKE IT SO DETIALED!

Seriously, there are too mayn ideas to enhance the gameplay here. We dont need exploding heads, we dont need real time battle damage on the spartan armor, we dont need to control the marines, and we certianly dont need to remove the people from the warthog.

Seriously, does not having all that really matter? Did you like the game without it? Then i really dont think we need it. If it aint broke dont fix it. Let Bungie concentrate on the story rather than heads exploding and how people die in vehicles.

Im not trying to say your idea is stupid or anything, it is really just an unneeded piece of fluff. The game really wont be any better or any worse with this feature.

  • 06.27.2006 8:48 PM PDT

that which is not dead can eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death may die.

and what If they just made it like, halo 1 where, all the peoples color was the same, with just the icon, hmmm...then what? and I dont like the idea, of the vehicles changing colour, unless during a team game, the red bases worthog was red, and the blues, blue. ok I could see that.

You all sound kind of bitter, but grnated the ideas could use some slight modifications I agree with the already stated "If it ain't broke don't fix it" saying myself.

I think it would be cool to dedicate and entire game developed by Bungie that was nothing but multiplayer for Halo 3; kind of like counter-strike developed by valve.

Take off team colors...? How would you know whose on your team besdies icons?

Overlay your colors on vehicles, eh? And how does that make sense at all? What if you have more than one perosn in the vehicle? People can express themselves enough with their icons and colors.

Instant banhammer on idiots yelling about Elites. And how is Bungie goign to get people willing to sit and listen in on every game ever of Halo 3?

I'm sorry, kid, but you just think way too illogically.

I think that in the H3 multiplayer, that they should have more customization i.e. more colors and logos. And to like change your vizor screen or something lol. Or maybe a different Spartan model? What of the Spartan 1's?

...only in The Flood

Maybe if they just changed your secondary colour to you teams colour? That might work

Ok, but I'd want them to have more prominent Secondary colors. sometimes you don't see the icon, especially if they're up close.

I think it'd also be kinda fun to be able to turn of friend indicators, ala Halo 1. Just for customs, but still I'd like the option. Phantom shotguns, no friend indicators, LAN... Good times. I probably have more stories from that gametype alone than all other Slayer variants combined.

how can you prove they die faster?

Color overlapping the vehicle, well, it's done in Mechassault 2: Lone Wolf

And a Pink scorpion tank, or a green ghost, yeah, well, it's not the same

They should put like add-ons on the Spartans, like water tanks and whatever. They just need to have more colors, or blend colors in...like camo!!

Ok???...It could be sweet, but I dont imagine a Spartan with Yellow and Pink on his armor going into a warthog and all of a sudden the warthog turns yellow and pink

That's not reason, it's useless cynicism (case in point, the person scoffing at no being able to identify teammates and then answering his own question with the obvious answer; and the fact that they took the banhammer idea seriously). These things are about as necessary as any of the other fluff in the multiplayer, but they make that fluff more prominent- with most people playing team games, it takes the point out of even having personalized colors. This would just add some more visual variety so that you didn't see the same red team fighting the same blue team in the same grey warthogs and green scorpions all day and all night. These things would take nothing away from the game, and they'd add just a little more depth and uniquity to it.
