Trying to get Waypoint to update Halo 3 stats in detail like here. Now no one can see that my Halo 3 Spartan no longer looks like my Reach Spartan.

Really want to be a Heroic member or have a title. :/

The infinity maybe tough, but it is the only ship of its expensive class. The sangheili still out gun most UNSC ships. Plus, there are still Supercarriers that are much bigger then the Infinity. Then again, a Supercarrier was destroyed by the Pillar of Autumn.

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

Well, it was made with Forerunner tech integrated in it. Maybe they smelted down some of that grey metal crap the Foreunners loved so much, and used it for the Hull.

I doubt the storm faction have a supercarrier, they don't grow on trees.

And the Autumn -blam!- slapped a Supercruiser.

No, the Autumn barely survived the encounter with the Supercruiser.

The Autumn managed to disable the Truth and Reconciliation. To the Covenant I would say that was a -blam!- slap.

Forerunner stuff was made to last. Even after 100,000 years, the Halos, Sentinels, and Monitors are in pretty good shape.

I doubt even the Covenant could just start melting it and putting it on their -blam!-.

A ship's only as good as her captain. I haven't seen anything of Del Rio yet that suggests he's half the captain Keyes was, and from what I gather he's a bit of a joke - Laskey's supposed to be the real commanding officer of the Infinity.

The Supercruiser>Truth and Reconciliation. The Reconciliation was only a CCS-Class Battlecruiser, and it wasn't even using its energy projectors on the Autumn, they were trying to not damage the ring. Only after the autumn accelerated did the Covenant hit it with Energy Projectors. There was a fleet of them around the Autumn, its only because the Covenant didn't use their full might did the Chief make it to the ring.

Dude, its not Precursor crap, it does have a melting point. It is just extremely durable to gun and somewhat less to plasma fire. I am sure they could create the conditions needed to melt down Forerunner metal, and the only reason the rings look so purty is because the Sentinels fix it, and the ring fixes them.

To add on to this point, a scarab could bust through a forerunner door and that big purple laser whose name I forget (energy projector?) could level a forerunner temple so the stuff is not that strong.

Forerunner adamantium, warship/military grade armor, is. This thread I read calculated the strength of the material holding Sharpened Shield together to have to be at least 10,000 times stronger than steel.

Busting down doors and walls is not the same as trying to melt the stuff so you can reshape it.

To melt it you need to reach a super high temperature to break apart the chemical bonds that hold the Forerunner metal together. Hell it takes 100 degrees celcius to turn LIQIUID Water into GAS. Imagine going from a super tough SOLID to liquid.

To knock stuff down you only need a certain amount of physical force. While the Forerunner metal didn't stay intact, it did stay solid.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

As far as I know, the UNSC Infinity was designed to be super tough compared to other ships, so probably not.

Not to mention the Elites having the whole remainder of the Covenant Empire at their finger-tips, as well as 99% of the whole Covenant fleets as well...if they wanted to, which they don't, they'd be able to kill off humanity without even breaking a sweat...especially since at the end of Halo 3 there's like hardly any kind of military left, there aren't very many ships, and most of those that remain are frigates...which are weak as hell.

Despite this, ONI was confident that the Infinity alone could beat back the Covenant - that was the reason for its commissioning; a final plan should Earth fall.

Wrong on two points.

1) In Halo 3 is clearly stated the Brute (Covenant) fleet outnumbered the Elite (Separatist) fleet 3:1. While the Elites won, they had nowhere near 99% of the Covenant's fleet.

2) Many Elites still want to kill humanity. From what I hear about the Thursday War, it's a large chunk.

However they have the capacity to finish us off, which is why some Elites want to do it now.

The Brute Fleet was outnumbering the Elite Fleet 3 to 1 AT THE ARK, meaning that the Elites did not send all their ships but just a little amount of them.

Yes because a normal mac gun is soo not scary -_-

Not really. Remember what we've seen when a standard MAC round hits a Covenant ship? 90% of the time it plinks off their shields harmlessly. It takes 4 shots most of the time to kill a large Covenant ship. 3 for the shields and 1 to gut it.

That's why Cole's fleet of 117 ships lost 37 against 12 of the Covenant's at the Battle of Alpha Aurigae, or the Battle of XI Boötis A where he lost 30 out of his 70, or his fleet of 17 destroyers being reduced to 6 against 3 Covenant ships.
