Yes, but I don't think the Bungie team would defy the theories of evolution. We weren't smart enough however many thousands of years ago. Unless they're trying to explain the dissapearance of the Neanderthal's. Also, the Covenant would have discovered this and worshipped the humans.
They're not syaing how humans evolved, they're saying how they got to Earth..and how we are here.
Evolution vs. Religios origins would have to go way back to when the Forerunners cam into existence ;-)Of course. but then comes the question of why the Forerunners would go this far out of their way for a mass migration to a planet of nearly exact specifications to their original planet when they could just make one?
Well, the Forerunners "owned" the whole Galaxy, and in turn owned all of the Planets (Earth, Reach, Jericho, The Prophets' world) so my guess is that all of their inhabited planets were similar (like what we did when we made our UNSC empire)
Earth was most likely the most convenient place to go, because it was farthest from the Flood's reach (or the Flood didn't know about it)..or Earth was simply a place where they "vacationed" "hunted" and "utilized for it's resources"..
When the Flood attack came..they built the Ark, along with the Halos..and once they were ready to set off the rings, they sent hundreds or thousands of Forerunner to the Ark, who hid inside.
Rings went off, everything with a Central Nervous system goes bye-bye (including combat forms) except for the people in the Ark.
Eventually, the Forerunners would forget their heritage (Do any native Americans live in Tee-Pees anymore?) over thousands an thousandss of years..made a new language(s)..made a new name for themselves (human)..and wrote a book about the stories of their past that had been passed down (and changed slightly each time) from generation to generation.
Jesus Christ could've been "god's son" (If he came from the past via the time-warping crystal) or he could be a human who remembered much more than regular humans did (They remember how to activate forerunner artifacts, and holopads, etc.)? This is the part that confuses me..
