No one wants a horribly slow, dumbed down site. I was using a real world example for you.
No you weren't. You were getting in an off-topic silly discussion. Which you're still doing. Enough.
:/

Also:
For the greater good. If a person is too selfish to sacrifice for the sake of the community as a whole, then they are also the ones we wish to irritate so they'll go away. Selfish jerks.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I just don't see how making the site slower is going to help. I would think that would get annoying. Also how would it be implemented, would banned users/warned users have to be switched to another Bungie.net server? How will this function?

I don't think I understand your thread.

By irritating bad users enough to the point they stop coming.
Also how would it be implemented, would banned users/warned users have to be switched to another Bungie.net server?Bungie would need to make codes. I established this in the first post.

How will this function?Well.

What about instead of irritation you used rehabilitation?

This seems like you are just making people more and more angry.

sorry to interrupt....

I believe he's asking when should it be implemented.

I say immediate implementation is the best option out of the two.

Yeah have fun with that.

Who's angry? I don't see any angry people. In fact, if anybody DID get angry, then the community is better off without them. They're selfish.

Isn't it selfish to want to block out or make users have a worse time because you don't like what they did?

It is almost vengeful.

I also can foresee a lot of technical problems with having various people running Bungie.net on faster and slower paces than others.

You're right. We must change the establishment. No more prisons. No more psychiatric wards. It's not like they protect the community or anything. It's just being selfish. Let them do what they want.

I also can foresee a lot of technical problems with having various people running Bungie.net on faster and slower paces than others. That's because you don't know how to code. All Bungie has to do is code it right and that won't happen. Bungie makes better code all the time. I established this in the first post.

But what do you really hope to accomplish?

Most spammers like john cena are alts. As in, the maker never uses that account again, ever.

So making that account operating slower does nothing.

Also Bungie can't do it based on IP or an entire university could be laggy on Bungie.net.

So why is that Bungie's problem? If they choose to implement something for their site, that's there choice. I really don't understand this whole 'Bungie can't' thing. Bungie can, it's Bungie's site.

By that logic banning accounts is also worthless but I don't imagine we're going to stop that anytime soon.

No. . . .

because making Bungie.net slow or impossible to access for an entire college is retarded.

Which sounds like you would have a problem with it personally. I'm still not seeing the reasoning behind your stance. 'It's retarded', is that all? Again, Bungie doesn't have some sort of obligation to its users.

Of course I would have a problem with it if another user got banned and I had to have a slower Bungie connection on campus.

Stop spamming.

Most spammers like john cena are alts. As in, the maker never uses that account again, ever.

So making that account operating slower does nothing.
It would cause them to question themselves. Is the site slower? Am I banned? I could be. I can't tell! Maybe I am, maybe I'm not!

It wastes their time. Besides, it sounds like you're saying we shouldn't even be banning people since that ''does nothing.'' We might as well get rid of rules, laws, and punishments by the logic you've been using thus far. You already said prisons in real life are a bad thing after all.

Also Bungie can't do it based on IP or an entire university could be laggy on Bungie.net. The greater good.

You know you could just keep the system like it is now and not screw over everyone else on that IP (if that is how you would administer it as people can delete cookies and switch alts as most spammers do).

Way to only look at a tiny section of the original post.

Let's use your logic, though. We shouldn't do things that don't work. Banning doesn't work. We shouldn't do it. So we have to try something else. Thus people must make sacrifices for the greater good. I don't see how you can say ''we shouldn't do it because I don't think it'll work'' then turn around and say ''we should keep things as they are even though nothing works.''

Stop being a hypocrite and answer the question in the first post. Simple.

Centuries ago at the dawn of the age the idea was put forth to have 'secret bans.' A moderator bans a user, but that user can still post, PM, make threads, what have you. In fact, that user is never even told he is banned. He continues as normal except... nobody can see his posts or threads any longer, except moderators. This could be extended to include the page load times. Just... make it take longer. Trick the computer into thinking it's loading when in reality it truly is 'just you.'

I see hilarity ensuing in the future. Truthfully, I don't know whether this is too cruel or too funny. I can see it now, a member that become irritated, and jaded due to the treatment of his community until one day he's had enough. He makes a thread, his last, in the community forum detailing the many cases of elitism, and prejudice against his posts, and threads. How he's been participating, but has yet to receive a title or prefix only to have a lone mod post in his thread stating simply, "dude you've been banned for like 4 months lol."

Trussingdoor is pretty kewl. He fires lasers and doesn't afraid of anything.

The latter idea is cruel and unfair. Like, why would you do that to someone? It'd just lead people to pointlessly spend time writing things that nobody would ever read. The current system is fine. We don't need sadistic punishments.
