I think you should be able to shoot the turret off!!!

Awesome idea for scorpion vehicle damage or secondary explosion or did you mean that even if the turret got blown off. tho bottom half could keep going?

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

you should be able to ram other tanks/vehicles and damage them. a scorpion charging into a wraith and then firing the main cannon would be spectacular.

I think the Main Gun should be at least 125mm because that is the shell that the US Main Battle Tank uses.

Usually turrets on tanks only blow off when their ammunition inside is hit. That means sure death for the entire crew and the tank is completely gone and is good for nothing but scrap

Considering how heavily armoured the Scorpion is i think that is quite hard. Do we even know where the ammo is stored?

Why is it a bad idea for people to ride on on the tank? You can transport a lot of people using that!...and when a tank blows up wich it can in HALO 2 and if the turret blows up, I would laugh...and then cry because it was expensive...

And grunt dude, thats classified Bungie information. Nobody knows but them!

Is it really a big deal where the ammo is stored? We can figure it out through trail and error, i mean blasting away at differents spots on the tank.

Slight sidebar, but will you be able to board the tank like the warthog and gost? The driver has the cage thing over him. How will it work?

I don't know where the ammo is stored. I do know that tanks ussually have more armor on the front and sides and less on the top and back. That would be nice if Bungie designs a feature like that into H2 so hat to kill the tank its easier to hit it from the top ar from behind.

As far as hi-jacking the tank thats hard to say. If you can it won't be hard to do because it moves slow and the occupants are closed up inside. Maybe when you bored the tank you flip the hatch up like i was saying and you throw a grenade/ shoot instide killing the occupants and jumping in for yourself.

I just realised that it would be really hard to do the thing with the driving and pointing the gun in the other direction; How would the camera work? You'd either not be able to see where you were shooting, or not be able to see where you're driving. The way they did it on Halo 1 worked fine, if they added two pilot ability, one gunning, one driving, then the different direction gunning would work.

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

They had this type of control in Reign of Fire. The camera would face the direction your were firing. The left thumb stick operates the direction of the vehicle and the right thumb stick operates the turret.

Also if you just pressed forward on the left thumb stick it would go in the direction of the turret just like Halo. A little hard to get used to at first, but soon becomes second nature. Although have a pilot and co-pilot would be alot more fun. I vote that most human vehicles with the exception of the ATV should require more than one player to fully operate.

Now that vehicles are destructable, its become quite apparant that some can take more punishment than others before they blow up. As the scorpion is quite frankly a TANK how much do you think it will take to take it out completely. Furthermore do you think the driver will be more protected due to this? i personally feel it can take several rockets and the driver won't die straight away.

In the OXM article it talked about vehicles that cover the occupants and that the game will reflect what you'd expect in this case. I'd assume then that sitting inside the tank you are protected from harm, unless the tank takes so much damage that it explodes, killing its occupants.

As far as the tank taking damage I think that is a fair assesment that they will be harer to destroy. they will probably like other vehicles have certain weak spots.

All I know is that you shouldn't be able to snipe the driver of a tank.

I think, for added realism, that a rocket to the side of the tank would do little damage and bigger damage from a rocket to the front or back of the tank where there would be less armor plating. Oh and the ability to imobilize the tank by shooting its treads off.

Better targeting Reticles. Also, instead of the machine gun for secondary, have a mortar shell. That way, if you have somebody strafing around rocks or buildings, just lob one over on top of them. Faster reload, mounted gun on top for passenger with a blast shield infront of them, side seat positions (2 with shields).

The tank still wouldn't be undefeated. Rockets, Fuel Rods, Flamethrowers, other tanks, and grenades will still romp them if used properly. Also. . .let's not forget our friend the Banshee.

Why did you get that side armor thing from? Everyone knows (except you obviously) that tanks have the most armor on the front, then sides, and least on the back. A rocket to the exhaust should do a lot more damage than a rocket to the front.

I agree:

- The tank should be more accurate (actually, it should be 100% accurate) with a slow rate of fire

- The Machine gun should be removed, It really didn't need it in my opinion

- Like the Warthog, the Tank should be team oriented like other people said... One guy arms the cannon while the other pilots it again (drivers get assists when it comes to kill because they keep the gunner alive)

- Like tanks of today, the tank should be less armored in the back (it's a way to reduce costs so they can make more tanks)

the scorpians is more powerful because it high velosity wich makes it go much faster and hit much harder the shell that is

A tank that don't suck.

Seriously, the driver is exposed.
The profile is tall as hell.
The armor can be pierced by smg rounds.
