Do you know about time travel?

Hello you wonderful person! Because of all this darkness it got me to thinking about possible ways as to how Bungie will unveil Destiny. Back before Halo 3: Recon was announced, a mysterious account was created and was going through the forums posting in green text saying things such as "PARDON OUR DUST" and "KEEP IT CLEAN". My question is, do you believe that we may see another version of the Superintendent but something more towards what Destiny will contain? Or do you believe they will do something like give a trailer?

If you have a different idea feel free to post it.

I hope there will be another ARG.

I am never late,Nor am I early; I arrive precisely when I mean to.

Check out this Thread on how to help new members here on Bungie.net

I unfortunately don't ever remember seeing that... darn. But that would be kinda cool to happen again.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

You know what I want, propaganda posters I can hang around town for each faction.

GOAT

I'd love to see SI post as a joke every so often.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I'm sure they'll do something similar to the AR and SI.

"Alternate Reality Game". Cross-media storytelling with real-world elements.

In the context of the Halo games, it's really more accurate to call them ARG/VMCs (Viral Marketing Campaign -- ultra low-budget marketing designed to spread marketing through word of mouth and the internet, not major advertisements), but whatever the nomenclature you like to use, these things are truly awesome. They use crowdsourcing for purposes of solving vastly complicated puzzles and codes, and because they are so mysterious and open-ended, they cause incredible amounts of speculation and hype/frenzy. They're unbelievably effective.

The Superintendent was not really an ARG... really just a pure VMC, since there were no puzzles/storyline that entered into the "real world." But to see how these things have gone down in the past, check out I Love Bees (Halo 2) and Iris (Halo 3).

I would absolutely love to see another ARG/VMC for Bungie's next project.

Hmm...that really made me wish I could have been here to see that. As of reading those links, I would also love to see a ARG/VMC for the release of Destiny. Thank you very much Foman.

Progo, Shrew, Chryso, all are the same.

It would be awesome to have one, sadly I wasn't around here much during that time.
Perhaps the new hawtness will include something like it in a more organic way.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

I wouldn't be surprised if you triggered it with this thread.

*waits for an account with a custom title/avatar...*

I suspect they'll be doing something different and more interesting, probably revolving around the "One of Seven" thing.

I sure hope so, stuff like that helps with the darkness. A cool thing about SI is that his last active day was a year before Halo ODST's release date. Even though I didn't know it at the time, Bungie gave us the release date a year ahead of time. I love Bungie so much.

It's a mystery

Well why do you think this account exists?

  • 10.19.2012 2:19 AM PDT

I actually was just pondering this last night! It would be cool if they did.

  • 10.19.2012 2:33 AM PDT

Still alittle pissed that I missed "I love Bees" and would enjoy whatever Bungie could put out before "Destiny" is released...

  • 10.19.2012 5:01 AM PDT

My future is certain, I will one day fly away. All because I am saved from the penalty of sin. I know he lives.

I thought that DeeJ said that when things were going to be back to normal, that it wouldn't come back with a little glimmer, but that the light would be so bright that it would blind us. So I would love the idea of some interaction like SI, but don't think that it is going to happen.

I think that we are just going to show up here one day, and the site will be bungie.next. kitty just died And we will get to spend a day or so trying to figure it out, then Bungie will step out and give us the full story.

  • 10.19.2012 5:35 AM PDT

If I'm not mistaken Bungie still own the rights to the Superintendent, so it would be cool to see it return to build up to Destiny.

If not, another similar account would be cool.
