MC is the human jauggernaut. other spartians would cramp his style.

It depends on how they are implemented. If they are a squad that MC leads, and the others support him, I say yes.

If they are like the MC and just kill everything and don't need you, then no.

Gamewise, they'd be fun, and they'd make it easier to balance out some cooperative segments, maybe. Plotwise, they'd be a nightmare- since, if I remember it right, Halo 3 is the final chapter of this story arc, we'd meet them and lose them over the span of one shooter game, and critics everywhere would yell about the lack of character development : /. Then again, it sort of worked with Foehammer in Halo 1.

Do you think you can handle my gigantic COC?

Maybe...

they should be introduced in a scene near the start, but dont appear in gameplay until near the end

or they might not be in the game at all

Dont you get it yet? The whole campaign is going to be based on co-op play. Your not going to be solo, your either gonna be fighting alongside 3 of your online Spartan buddies, or 3 of the next gen AI computer controlled Sparten buddies.

It all makes sense now.

I am...whimsical today.

If the are introduced, the most I want them in the game is by radio signals, possibly carrying out missions in other locations to help you in the story. I wouldn't want to fight alongside them, the MC is more or a solo guy. If they fought along with you, then they would not die. You could let them do the mission for you.

If anybody can recall from the book fall of reach, Srg Mendez leaves John and the other spartans to go train the other spartans for the future...maybe those will be the spartans in H3

It would be nice for otehr spartans to have a cameo, kinda like in warrior within (prince of persia) when you see the dark prince walking around doing things that you will do later on (confusing lol)

So lets say you are working your way through some back streets on earth, doing your thing (killing) when some marine guerillas are driving a warthog across some covie, and drive away- with a spartan on the turret shooting away.

that would be cool!

but the covenent is in a civil war, so it's possible that the Grunts/Elites/Hunters will be joining the humans side

Dammit. I WANT A LAST STAND.

I would also love a last stand, like a big batle field full of hunters and brutes against marines, elites, grunts and the Mc all fighting on one big battlefield. It would be awesome

this is my oppinion:

well the books almost go against the back-cover of the Halo: Combat Evolved box...but I'm going with the books because they actually are interesting (not the game, but the box)

I feel that each Spartan should have their own 'skill" only in Singleplayer, because anywhere else would make it kinda weird...
Kelly-Extremely fast with a sprint ability
Linda-When zoomed in, goes into "Spartan Time"
John (MC)-Cortana helps along missions
Anton-(even though he's dead) has devestating punches
Li-(again even though he's dead) menuveres extremely well in zero-grav

i would give more examples, but i havent read the books in over a year...so everything is kinda fuzzy

thats just my oppinion
i think it'd be pretty cool if that could happen but thats just me...

That would jjust be weird. I think everything shoudl stay the same, and no amount of grunts could kill ten spartans.

Becuase the plot line which allowed extra spartans in the story (not being all whiped out on reach) only happened in the novels (much like the attack on the unyielding heirophant, the warp crystal, etc). In the game story line all other spartans have been killed off.

Though even if there were additional spartans I wouldn't want them as first it would make an odd introduction for the masses who did not read the novels. Along with that a last minute intor such as that would be very shaky in its story telling ability.

All the work of filling in the back history of where this spartan was for the last year or so and why they were not told he was still alive when it could have been used as a nice piece of propaganda to show how deadly we still are with 2 spartans. Along with explaining any "family" ties he would naturally have with the last of his genetically altered kin.

I gave halo 2 a maybe shot on it but to toss them in now would only weaken the overall story line by disrupting the flow and balance of story tellers and characters along with obvious disaapointment to be had in actual game play if it turns out you play as this other spartan it would just be the same as fighting as John only people would call you a different name or they may try to toss in some special power this spartan has which would leave us with arby levels, then twice as many spartan levels which are not very different. Or they could always just include it as a NPC but then it would destroy the whole all on your own feel as you walk through this valley of darkness not alone but with yet another super powerful cyborg which they would have to make invinsible otherwise they would have to explain how the spartan got overtaken by some grunts.

Really just leave the master chief alone.
