Subject: Celebs and music, who do you think should be in Halo 3?

So in Halo 2 there we're some cool guest voices like Meachel Rodriguez and Dona from the 70's show ( sryy I dont know her real name) and a couple of musical performances like Incubas and Breaking Benjamins. So the question is who would you guys like to see contribute to Halo 3 other then Bungie. Personally I'd like to see Linkin Park do some music (not just becuz I like them but becuz the come up woth some really epic sounding music) and Dane Cook do a guest voice (i think he do it cuz he likes video games...plus if you want some funny marine comments, he'd be the guy).

Who do you guys think should do a guest voice or music for Halo 3?

I think that if well known voices and songs were put in halo 3, it would ruin the game

Well they dont have to be that well known, I'm Incubas a fairly sucsessful band put their song "follow" into Halo 2 and ppl didnt make the connection, jesus im not saying put in "back in black" or anything. And Halo 2 was awsome and every knew Dona and uh.... idk the black guy from 'Evolution' (i dont remember his name either)

hell yeah, Linkin Park would do some sick Halo 3 tracks

Ugh, no more commercial angst rock bands. Keep it orchestral. Halo 2 got away with 1 rock instrumental. Anything more would have been pushing it far too far. Don't be hellbent on ruining the atmosphere of the game just so you can hear your favourite band in there. You'll probably be able to play custom soundtracks anyway seeing as it's the 360.

To be fair, it was 4 rock inst. And the *atmosphere* is set 500 years in the future where orchestras are probably long gone.(Rock dwindling; Rap...don't even get me started about rap; Techno[or some other new form of music] would probably be reigning.)

I only remember one, from the Gravemind (or high charity?) level. And what difference does it make what music people would listen to 500 years in the future? It's not coming out of the radio in the warthog. It's a soundtrack. People don't listen to orchestral music much now, but do you think that stops it being the best thing for epic films?
Lets keep Halo, Halo. Don't try and turn it into some generic kiddy shooter with generic kiddy bands on the soundtrack. Keep it epic, keep it cinematic.

Voiceover-wise, they should have some of the guys from Red vs. Blue do some voice work (or even the RvB characters appear in the game).

Music-wise, nothing should be changed. As long as they keep the rock song in there, we're good to go.

First of all; if we were to keep Halo, Halo, we wouldn't have Halo 2 OR 3. Second... you're right. It wouldn't matter what anyone listens to in the future. None of us are going to be alive in 500 years.

Arnold Schwartzeneger as the AH-BIT-UH!!!

Seriously though...

James Earl Jones - The Arbiter

Samuel L Jackson - Sgt. Johnson

Harrison Ford - Lord Hood

Mila Jovovich - Merranda Keys ( i hated all her movies except 5th element but she could work this.)

Bruce Willis - Rugged Marine that will show up frequently

Music By: (all original songs without words)

Metallica (with Marty O' Donnel and orchistra to do Halo Theme)
Couldnt think of anyone else, and i hate metallica....But i think it could fit..

Korn (During Intence Battle)

Breaking Benjamin (During Epic Battle)

Chevelle (sweet cutscene sequence)

Marty O' Donnel (Majority of cource)

What? That doesn't make any sense. Orchestra may be long-gone by then, but the orchestra isn't "taking place" in the future; it's just aiding the atmosphere.

The thing with music is, insert whatever makes the game feel right. Rap doesn't feel right at all; I can't snipe an enemy base while listening to 50 Cent come up with crappy lyrics. Orchestra helps make battles look massive and patriotic almost. Example: entering the first hangar in Truth and Reconciliation on halo 1. That was a kickass music track, and I hate orchestra.

It just goes to show you how awesome Marty O'Donnel is. I'll be damned if Linkin Park takes his job.

Personally, original music is what made Halo: CE such an emersive experience. For this sort of topic I use the Prince of Persia series as an example. Halo: CE and The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time were great because of their great music scores. In both of their sequels they tried to incorperate Rock and Heavy Metal, which in my opinion tarnished the experience, it didn't fit for the mood of the first game. For The Two Thrones (POP), an even more dramatic score was produced for orchestra. I want Halo 3's music to be 5 times as dramatic as the trailer's music was, and most definately not in a Rock style. It just isn't suited for this series. Besides, with the 360 you can just use custom soundtracks anyway.

Does anyone else find it interesting that after writing fantastic scripts for the X-men movies, among others, Bungie DIDN'T offer David Hayter the job of writing Halo?

Strange evolution how people have come to believe
That we are it's greatest achievement

Personnally, I liked Marty's work in Halo 1 and Halo 2. I didnt care for the music from other artists. Marty seems to capture the mood of the game perfectly as well as heighten the mood in many cases.

Drop the gimmick guest tracks and let Marty and the other sound guys do the music.

Ah, look at the lonely people...

Martin O'Donnell. His music should be in Halo 3. That's it.

I'd love harming my enemies to death with butt strokes. XD

...dear god...not Linkin Park...

look, I love metal, alt rock, classic, etc. normally I owuldnt even think of listening to any orchestra stuff. But no, that wouldnt be right for Halo. This is Marty's baby.

And for voices...umm, I'll tolerate a few, like the Arbiter's done by Kieth David (I believe..or was it the other way around? wait, David Kieth is white, definetly option 1)
