Only after we ban Bricypoo.

Now, as most of you know we as a community have lost good members over the years, Like BerserkerBarage and DEATHPIMP72. I thought it would be really cool if Bungie did something that Gearbox did. They had received a letter from a friend of a man named "Michael Mamaril" talking about how Michael had died from cancer. Michael's friend mentioned how Michael was a huge borderlands fan, and he wanted claptrap to say a Eulogy for Michael. Not only did they do that but they also even added him into the game.

Now this was one of the greatest things I have ever seen in a video game. This was something I thought would be a great idea if Destiny did something like this. I think it would be a great way for us as a community to honor these members.

Thoughts?

GOAT

I wouldn't say it should be in the game, but it would be nice nonetheless.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Wasn't B.B a soldier on Reach?

  • 10.20.2012 11:58 AM PDT

It's a cool idea. Didn't BeserkerBarage have a very small tribute in Reach? One of the random trooper names, or something like that.

That's a great idea.

It would be cool.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

Yes, BB was a soldier in Reach who appeared randomly on missions where you had a "fire team" with you. He appeared as "Private L. Starline" (his real name was Logan Starline) with the service tag "BB."

These Easter Eggs are wonderful; it would be great to see something similar in Destiny.

Do you know about time travel?

It always makes me smile when I see game companies do those types of easter eggs. It shows that they really care for the community.

Twas awesome. Like the rest of us, I saw it first on PiercingTiger's screenshot. After that, I made it a point to see if I could run across it.
:P

Personally I'd love to see shoutouts to just a ton of different community members. It'd be cool.

It would be awesome if Bungie could honor this great Bungie members to be part of their game, to remember them with the love they deserve.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

that would be awesome. While not personally knowing any community members that have died on here, listening to you guys talk about B.B. is sad and cool all at the same time. and it was even cooler of Bungie to put him in the game.

meh...

How about an easter egg room with all our B.Net names on the walls?

Edit: and then the room simply gets bigger for every name added to the site

That idea already has two or three threads dedicated to it. Please, don't ruin the thoughtful tone of this thread by bumping that idea, no matter how good it is; this thread is about especially honoring those we've lost.

"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle- victorious"

The memorial should read the following:

"For us, the storm has passed... the war is over. But let us never forget those who journeyed into the howling dark and did not return. For their decision required courage beyond measure; sacrifice, and unshakable conviction that their fight... our fight, was elsewhere. As we start to rebuild, this hillside will remain barren, a memorial to heroes fallen. They ennobled all of us, and they shall not be forgotten."

OT: Great idea.

  • 10.21.2012 10:57 AM PDT

And so the war of Gods and Demons shall begin. Tomorrow will end with your heart in my hand!

Love ya! =3

This would be epic. I would probably cry a little when I saw it, but it is a really good idea.

Do NOT send me Recruitment Letters, doing so will get you blocked faster than you can say "Huh?"

This makes me think of that Memorial wall for some reason. How about a secret room inscribed with the names of Bnet members?

Edit: I apologize for not reading the other posts and living under a rock...
